Instead of having one or another, how about a combination plus? For example, many a person has said they prefer the BR in terms of performance, but the AR was WAY MORE FUN. So, i thought it would be practical to have an "All-purpose" rifle that has Full-auto, Burst, and Semi-auto settings. Any thoughts?

Nothing personal...

If somehow they don't put the BR back into the game, then I guess it would be a good idea. If the BR is in it though, then no.

a lot of games have the option to press a button and switch between full-auto and 3-round bursts. Perhaps Halo 3 will have that option on some guns. that would be tight

They should make it so that multiple guns have similar options. After all, the d-pad isnt in use...

BR <strike>=</strike> AR. (I know it doesn't work, just pretend)

That about covers it. They are two different weapons. Just because they both end in rifle doesn't mean anything. Think, people.
