Heres an idea in what might happen in Halo 3 (im not nessecerilly saying this is what i think). There are many biblical refrences in the halo trilogy, for example the ark, on earth, and the flood. See what im getting at?
Noah took an ARK to escape a FLOOD. So maybe the ark on earth is a safe hold for humans? an escape from the flood?
This is where I predict the end of halo 3. Jesus sacrificed himself for humanity and bought them peace and got rid of suffering, maybe Master Chief will decide to do the same, sacrifice himself for humanity, therefore saving it... Bungie have said Halo 3 will be the last Halo game, having MC die would be upsetting, but wouldnt make much diffrence.
Id like to know what you guys think of this and also tell me if you work out any other biblical refrences from the halo trilogy.

The Biblical reference is pretty obvious.
I think Arbiter will sacrifice himself - not Master Chief.

BIBLE OF HALO (As I have found it)

And down from heaven decended the Angels of God, and reproduce with the children of Earth they did, and from this procured the Heroes of old, and they had powers not normal to the natural man- Spartans? The gene left over from the Forerunners manifesting itself?

The ARK of the COVENANT

ARK=Noah's ARK

There's some more, but I forgot them.

The ark does activate the halo rings, yes but im saying it could be a safehold as well. maybe the forerunners intended the humuns (thier derivertives) to activate the ark???

its just an idea.

Well as I said its just an idea but id love the concept of it. Going further into it if Master Chief does scrifice himself, does that mean he is some sort of meshieh?

Well, he already took regret to the grave and made his second coming to earth... so why would he sacrifice himself?

I dont know, the story would have to explain that. Maybe the covenant would agree to the end the war but only if Master Cheif gave his life, because of all the pain, suffering and damage he has caused them? That would be his sacrifice for humanity.

Personally, I think that the Arbiter will die a sacrificial death for the humans.
Perhaps both die. I don't really know anything.
