Here is a new gametype possibility for Halo 3

Ok me and some guys were playing halo 2 on xbox live a week
or so ago and, one of the guys had a gametype called hostage resque.
I was thinking, that if bungie could implement a gametype into Halo 3 like
this it would be very fun and origional.
This is similar BUT not identical to the hostage modes in counterstrike.
You DO NOT buy weapons in this gametype.

The rules are as follows. ( *** this symbol denotes updated sections )

1 red team defends ( Elites )
2 Blue team Assault and Res-q's hostages. ( Humans )
3 Hostages are human Bots in the Game ( humans )
4 hostages can only move if following a memebr from either team.
5 Each person in the game is limited to 7 lives per round.
6 red team wins by holding hostages for alloted time
7 blue team wins by resueing hostages iin alloted time

8 The game consists of 5 rounds
9 winner of 3/ 5 of the rounsd wins the game
10 each round consists of 3 minutes
11 each game consists of 15 minutes

12 starting weapons are

BLUE----Pri. Battle rifle, Sec. SMG
RED-----Pri. Carbine, Sec Plasma Rifle
HSTGE BOT--- None

13 Starting vehicles

BLUE--- 1 Standard hog, 1 Gauss hog
RED---- 3 various turrets, 1 spectre

14 Team Selection

Before matchmaking begins your party may choose to play as
wether blue team or red team. The matchmaking system would
then match you up against an opposing team color.

*** Here are some map themes that would work well

1 High Charity Prison Facilty
2 Abandoned Desert Hydroelectric Station
3 Undersea Laboratory
4 Covenant Cloning Labs
5 Bill Gates Mansion ( Yeah, its big enough for a map )

I always thought an extraction gametype would be awesome.
Bungie might not put it in, as it is somewhat similar to capture the flag.

nice idea for mutiplayer, but there is one thing you overlooked. elites do not take prisoners. sometimes the covenant will take a small number of high-ranking prisoners, but that is only for brief interogation and then they are promptly killed.

Well, for the sake of a cool gametype we'll pretedn they are all generals, in the UNSC.
OR we'll let bungie explain their way around that.

That would be a great level for a hostage extraction game.

I'm still waithing for bungie to explain that plot wise. (they were there to give you backup and make the level not seem so short.)
then again brutes are rather dense, maybe they thought the were valuble, or maybe it was the work of the prophets, who knows what they are up to.

It could work that way also. I haven't worked out all the details.
Thats Bungies job if they want something like this in their game,
i'm just trying to spark the idea...

Also if you remember the later level on high charity in halo 2, they did
take prisoners, so it is possible for the elites to be holding prisoners.
what if they want to interogate them for interlligence.....

i like but its not halo thats more counter-strike or splinter cell

Ah, look at the lonely people...

I knew someone was going to say it's too much like Counter-Strike. True, this gametype was made famous by CS, but that doesn't mean Halo can't use the idea as well.

I even said myself that is is like counterstrike and i made this thread.
It does not have you paying for weapons, so its not completetly identical.

don't worry about it. Yes some of the features in this gametype are reminiscent of CT.

However it is also injected with Halo centered stuff like turrets and vehicles, CT doesn't have that !!

Interesting stuff, like CTF with perishable Flags :)
