I got one better...King...Dong....

King Kong, went to Hong Kong, to play ping-pong, with his ding-dong. Tee-hee!

Tie between Gravemind and the Arbiter. I just can't decide!

My opinion does not matter.

And my opinion tells you to go to hell.

Well...you have to kill truth sometime. Gravemind is easy to kill, just nuke him then send in the mc to see what's left.

It has to have bosses, whether we want it or not. Unless they figure out a way to kill truth without fighting him directly, which is hard, but otherwise its not possible. Besides, i liked killing regret.
Regret + Legendary = Freaking hard

The scarab, the Heretic elite, regret, the Library elevator, The brute encampment, The masolueum of the arbiter, Tartarus are all the bosses you face in halo 2. Basically, whenever you are about to switch characters, there's a boss. The boss doesn't nessiscarily have to be one single character, it just hass to be a hard part at the end of the level.

Even halo: CE had bosses

The Gravemind would obviously be the hardest. And I can't believe you put in the Prophet of Truth...WOW.

I wouldn't want to fight another spartan. If they make it too the game. Then they better be on my side. It would b e nice to get some freaking cover fire and team work going.

I hope this isn't blasphemous but what if Cortana is beyond hope because she is infected by Gravemind and you have to fight her in some form or other, she sends legions of flood, corrupted sentinels, etc. This would be at least a twist if anything...

I vote to have no boss battles. I think Bosses really killed halo 2. I really didnt like how it went from fighting all of the covenant to fighting single character's motives.

Anyone remember The Maw? What a great alternative to a boss fight. It was a giant puzzle, with a timed warthog race at the end through an exploding ship and hordes of flood and covenant. Why fight one person when you can fight your way through hundreds of enemies. It is so much more fun because of the unpredictability of the situation. 1 person is easy to predict, where 20 of them is much harder. No boss battles for me, i have had my fill.

I don't think they will have bosses. If you ask me, it would ruin the game. Though for some reason I would like to fight a Giant Grunt for some reason, because I want to see a Grunt give me a good fight instead of the usual One-Shot, One-Kill to the head with BR to Grunts.

What about gravemind, and he has the (flood) spartan and (flood) tartarus all the same time

I would cry

Why is something that says "No" not an option? To me, it looks like a bunch of people would prefer not to have boss battles, as someone stated it ruined Halo 2 when you go from fighting a bunch of enemies to fight one single thing, The Prophet Regret was really stupid to fight, Tartarous was stupid also...

I beleive the arbiter would be a sweet bossfight then you fight truth. The arbiter is still in the dark about who instigated the brute uprising so he might still think that the prophets are on his side. therefore he ends up finding the prophet at the same time the chief does and the morally conflicted arbiter decides to take the fate of all the other arbuters before him by dieing to preserve the covenant. Chief kills arbiter-chief kills prohpet.

I really hope the boss fights if any don't suck in Halo 3, I hated the end boss on Halo 2 as I'm sure everyone else did. To me it wasn't really a good ending to all the fighting to just fight a simple boss. We need a Halo 1 ish x 10 ending, with lots of tension and lots of adrenalin pumping action to the very end.

  • 07.27.2006 9:01 PM PDT

Wait, you actually checked this?

Will you be my friend?

Yeah, i really hope that Halo 3 doesn't have a boss fight. It ruined the ending for me in Halo 2. Give me another "escape in vehicle before place blows up" scenario, like escaping High Charity in a Longsword or something. In fact, if the Chief does kill Truth, I'd rather have it in a cinematic rather than in-game.

I actually liek the bosses, since I played so many games that were like that, bosses periodically placed in the game would be cool. I'd like to fight Gravemind. But in the way were you switch back and forth between the Chief and Arbiter. Like if your the Chief, the Arbiter gives back up with energy sword ( the AI would be invincible ). Then when you got a good couple hacks at GM, there's a cutscene where it shows Chief getting entangled by GM. Then it switches to the Arbiter and you hack at Gravemind while trying to cut Chief loose. Then it switches back to Chief and well you kill gravemind.

New boss battles wouldn't be bad. I never say anything wrong with 'em. Fighting Gravemind would be a true challenge.
