good to see some policeing on these groups. theres too much flaming as it is. I will not allow the members of my groups to disgrace the groups of which they reside. I want the members of my groups to set an example for the rest of this wretched forum.
On Topic: I have formulated a solution.
Halo 3's mission scheme would be identical to Halo 2's but with a twist.
At first, there would be a large cinematic explaining various things, getting us up to speed without having to replay Halo or Halo 2. In the unlikely event that more Spartans choose to rear their ugly head, this would be the place to introduce them. Perhaps including a few flashbacks with the others.
After said cinematic, the first level would go two ways depending on more Spartans or not. First, more Spartans: A 'flashback' level. You are back with the others doing something from the books, like infiltrating the rebel base before the Spartans have MJOLNIR armor (I refuse to go into detail, that would spoil it for those who haven't read them). Second, no Spartans: The first level would begin with Chief on the Forerunner ship, perhaps sabotaging it's journey to Earth. This would also keep true to the trend of the Halo games starting on a ship, for those that care.
After said first level, another cinematic explaining even more things. After aforementioned cinematic, an Arbiter level would ensue, perhaps fighting his way off of Halo. After this, yet another large cinematic explaining the Elite home world. Another Arbiter level, he is to go to the Elite home-world to inform them of the Covenant's betrayal and get the Elite fleet (haha) to come to Earth and help fight the Covenant.
After said Arbiter level, another lengthy cinematic explaining things further. All these large cinematics are due to Bungie leaving so many holes needing filled. Things would continue as Halo 2, switching back and forth but not being so vague and unthorough in between missions.
The last two levels would be large scale battles, endless enemies owning you on Normal difficulty even. These last two levels are on Earth, the Flood have arrived and the Covenant have broken through, the Forerunner ship has crash landed. The first large battle is an Arbiter level, him and you working together to avenge his brethren, smiting the Brutes.
Large cinematic, last large battle. You are the Chief, fighting through hordes of Flood and Covenant to get to the Ark. If Spartans were in the game they would be with you. You are half way to the Ark. Cinematic showing the other Spartans dying (if in the game), the next level begins as the Chief, ready to avenge the Covenant Separatists and Humanity, kills Gravemind while doing so kills Cortana, activates the Ark, and ends it all.
Final cinematic: The Halos go off, wiping everyone away. Maybe a final flashback. Right before the credits roll: "Sorry for the quick thaw, Master Chief. Things are a little hectic right now."
Credits.
