So how did it all start for you? Saw it on a tralier, saw it on a tee-shirt, did a friend (or strange bald man) tell you about it? How?

Through Halo PC. I visited at first but didn't really find the prior site layout very inviting. I returned a few weeks later to the sight of this version and made an account. I didn't post much at first, but after a while I was sent ye olde PM spam from a chapter and joined forthwith - and loved it. From there I met people, joined other chapters and eventually started posting on the public forums more frequently. I used to hang around the Classifieds alot with the little community there and played a fair bit of HPC. In November '04, I was compelled to get Live so I could play with my friends online on Halo 2.

I look back with considerable irony now and wish that the old site were still around. :|

I was in the Halo community before it knew it existed.

I remember the original Bungie website. After reading through a couple of pages I was compelled to join but I was called up for dinner, Chicken Kiev, If my memory serves me correctly. I must have banished it from my mind after that and re-discovered Bungie back in January of 2005.

Speaking of the "original" bungie.net website, anybody got any pictures of it?

shhhhhhh

I fell in love with the Halo on Xbox. Of course, I wasn't aware there was a B.net at that time. I didn't really find out until after I bought Halo 2, when I got live, and saw the B.net logos around.

I'd been playing halo for years and realized I should go join these guys online.

My dads friend works at Microsoft, and was able to me Halo for free. At the time, I wasn't allowed to play "M" rated games, so I didn't play it until a few months after release, and by that time my friend was obsessed with it. So he invited me over to play it, and I was never the same. And he pointed me in the direction of this place.

I heard about the real next project . . . Pimps at Sea. I have been very disappointed at all of the delays with the instant classic game. The pics released earlier this year were impressive.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

After playing Halo CE for the countless time, I started to wonder where to find the Golden Banshee (as a friend had told me about). I browsed Truth and Reconcilliation for months but never joined, I had no idea what the forum was. Months later I joined this place and got flamed for asking the question of the Golden Banshee.

Loved it ever since.

yeah, I read the update about halo 2 for months before realizing it had a forum. But I started playing Halo CE after a frined had me play it on his "xbox" which was some N64 rip-off, ot something.

"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

I first came so that I could check my online friends...and sometime later made a thread reporting cheaters (when there was a report cheaters sticky in Zanzibar, though I did not know how to use the forums at the time, so I ended up making a new topic instead of replying). I checked regularly, but never participated in the forums until roughly June or July of '05. My story after that is long and rambling. After another 7 months, I found Marathon, and I shall not soon forget it. The game that is. I already forgot the date that I first downloaded it.

I've been lingering since 03, i left for awhile. Then i made my first account Thegruntnextdoor. It got deleted and i made this one. What got me into this community and developer was originally ONI. I got more involved after the realease of halo 2. Halo CE was a major factor in my decision in joining the site.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Mainly I came on here like quite a few people to get the Bungie.net behind my GT. About three months later I came back to see what else was on the sight and started posting in the forums. Slowly but surely I started visiting all of the forums and getting into the group scene. Now I am an addict and have to visit and post during much of my free time. I guess you could say that the B.net online team are my pushers.

My friend said "dude you have to skip school and go play this game at the mall" I played it (Halo 1). I asked who made it, came home Googled "Bungie". Several accounts later, I'm still around.

I had finished reading the story on the one year anniversary of Halo 2, and saw the "Discuss this Story" link, so I clicked it. I saw a lot of forum discussion talking about Halo 2's birthday, and wanted to join in. I made an account thinking I was only going to be here for that night, but I ended up staying for a long time.

I came here in 2002 alot. But I never registered. I was alowed to play Halo finally in 2004 or in 2005. I came back to the site in 2006 and finally registered at age 11. Now here I am, probably the only 12 year-old girl on the site.

Yeah, actually, I just made a thread with some pics in it. The 'Bungie: Through the Ages!' one.

And what got me to actually join the Seventh Column was a little message in the back of the Halo manual. Something about 'World Domination' or whatnot. But, I was extremely bored since I had just moved and lived in a crappy place, so, I hopped on AOL and went to the site. It took a couple days to get used to, and then I finally joined. I made my first two chapters just a few days afterwards.

I bought the original Halo with my Xbox, I didnt become a real member of the community untill around Halo 2 came out when i started getting into Bungie lore and the Novels all that great stuff.

I had actually played Oni before Halo, i just never really paid attention to who developed it.
