i havent seen any options to let you use Open GL 3d graphics in the game. Am i to understand bungie didnt make the game 3Dfx capable ? or do i have a beta version?

i find it hard to believe after the great job they did with the Xbox version!

Without 3dfx the game seems very jerky even though i have a fairly recent computer. perhaps there is a tweak available? i remember when quake 2 first came out they released a tweak / patch later on.

Uhm, Halo For PC is a DX9 Game, not OpenGL, and no there is no tweak or mod to enable GL...

yeah he's right it's directx9, it is a microsoft games studio game don't forget. sounds like your recent Pc either isn't recent enough, or needs a new gfx card.

Welcome to the future. If you haven't noticed, 3Dfx is gone, disappeared, wiped out. Zipped.

that may be, funny hoq quake 2 looks and moves alot better than this game. i just thought they were onto smething good with Open GL? i noticed they dont have all the smooth textures as they used to. i dont know, maybe im still expecting something as simple looking as Quake 2, or as good as Halo Xbox.

Yes Quake 2 runs great. But you know why? Because IDsoftware spent like several months or maybe a year to make sure it runs great on any system from the lowly TNT card up to the powerful X800 or 6800 Ultra. Gearbox Software did not refine and tweaked the game for any video card other then maybe the Radeon 9800 Pro, so in the end, we gamers suffer through the game developer's laziness and incompetent efforts in making the game playable for us.

Heyyo,

Yep, that's summed up. HaloPC was rushed, and not ported as good as it could've been.. I've played Splintercell on pc, and it turned out much better than halopc... Probably because they used the UT2k3 (or 2k4... not sure) engine. Maybe Gearbox should've tried the same by using a pre-built engine that works great??? at least halopc would've ran more smoothly...
