Is a higher sensitivity directly relative to a higher skill (and visa-versa)?

If so - what's your sensitivity at? I'm particularly curious at which level the Bungie employees prefer -.-a

Personally, I go back and forth between 6 and 7. Which is semi-odd because back in the Quake 2 days, I played at an equivalent of about 15 (granted, there is quite a substantial difference in using a mouse vs analog).

Skill isn't dictated by your look sensitivity, and I'd definitely say your look sensitivity isn't dictated by your skill. A player can be just as vicious with a low sensitivity as they can a high one.

I agree, I have a relitively low sensitivity as I am a sniper. I belive that your look sensitivity depends on your role on the battlefield

While I agree on most levels, I can't help but recall several instances where people with a lower sensitivity seemd to be at an extreme disadvantage. For example, turning around. There's been times when I've been able to circle around a player faster than he/she can follow because of a low sensitivity (this is an extreme case, but I do think the ability to turn around quickly is extremely important). Based on what I've seen, it seems people (this is quite a generalization) with a lower sensitivity prefer sniping and long range fire fights, whereas higher sensitivity players prefer a more in-your-face approach and close range assault rifle style tactics. Of course with everything, there's always a medium. Merely an observation.

Which would seemingly agree with the previous post.

A couple of my friends always own me when it comes to big maps or sniping. They have their sensitivity at 2 or 3. I however, can school them when it comes to smaller levels and close quarters combat. I keep mine at 7. So, from my experience, snipers like low sensitivities and close-combat folks like 'em higher.

I have mine at an all whopping 10. In close there's just no stopping me. With sniping, as long as I take my time and lead my target I can get the head shot. If I miss that headshot though... *whistles* trouble. I just bound back and forth taking potshots. I learned a long time ago that you can't take sniping in Halo seriously.

What I do have is a little trouble when aiming the pistol at the head at medium range.

We generally spend quite a lot of time playing "bash" and that extra speed makes all the difference. There's been so many times I've had the flawless victory just be getting around to the side and then there's the "head tap shuffle" where you leap on an enemies head, stand on top and pummel straight downwards. The guys never know what hit them.

The higher the look sensitivity the better; but only as high as you can handle. 10 is the best, but very hard to control. If you at 7 now, try moving up to 10 and play for awhile. You'll suck, but stick with it though. So when you move back down to 7 or 8. It'll seem slow compared to 10 and your aim will be much better.

I personally keep mine at a comfortable 4, and I prefere close range combat to to medium, but I'm quite lethal at long...

It all depends on your play style (way to state the obvious, Surge!). I usually play at five, which gives me a slight disadvantage at extremely close quarters, but I rarely allow anyone that close to me anyway.
