I hope this is within the rules of this forum, so here goes: I just made a forum and I need some members. Discuss anything you want here, games, whatever. I just need some cool people willing to join. Don't flame, just say if you're willing to join.

Not to be rude, but here are a few problems I notice with your idea:

1) You can discuss a lot of things right here where you posted.
2) You need to provide a REASON for people to join. People won't join and 'discuss things there' just because you need them to for your own satisfaction. You have to provide them a reason to want to post there.
3) Your forum has advertisements. This one does not.*

*at least I assume it doesn't. I don't get any, at least.

Uh. I dunno. It's just a free forum I made for an underground game development company I have. I just wondered if anyone felt like joining.

There ya go. You provided a reason. Now, to strengthen your appeal, try proving that your company consists of more people than and your best friend.

It's just me and three friends from school making games and flash movies though.

Ok. I suppose "company" was a bit misinterprited on my end.

What kind of games? Flash? Have you tried your hands on making mods for existing games?

We make .exe format games using either Game Maker 5.0 or Blender 3-D renderer.

Hey, what you have is almost exactly like what I have! Me and a group of friends and their friends, recently started something very similar. It's called Ninefires Development Systems. Currently, we're working on a 3D FPS code-named "Fray".

Unfortunately though, it seems we have an edge over your group in quite a few places.
1. Our forums, in fact the entire website, is Ad-free. If you want proof, see it at http://www.ninefires.net

2. We've already gotten 13 members after starting up only a few weeks ago.
3. We actually have our first, complete, finished game hosted on our website, that you can download for free (just uploaded it's final version online yesterday (some bugs were discovered)).
4. Our forums allow for custom avatars and much more.

Seriously, we could always use more people, and some people there have expressed an interest in learning how to program their own games. If you're interested in that stuff, be sure to check out HERO at ninefires.net. My user name is nvision.

We use 3D Studio Max. Not as easy to use as Blender, and it isn't freeware, but it's professional stuff. It's what Bungie uses afterall.

I'm not comparing my little company to anyone elses. I don't care what programs you use or how good your forums are, I'm just trying to see if anyone is interested in joining mine.

Yikes, I'm very sorry if I came off as trying to place our site over yours DemonSpawn77. I just felt that it appeared that we had much in common and pondered the hope that you might be interested. Personally, I think what you have is a great start, and we all have to start somewhere. I'm very sorry, and will refrain, from posting in this thread anymore.

Once again, I am terribly sorry. I was just trying to point out our mutual interests, but I guess I should've started my own thread. My mistake.

Oh, Obbi, I'll get to your PM right away...

I picked up on the same thing. Your post seemed innocent and interested when I read it - not at all malicious.
