its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

It think it should be. The Classifieds are already un-active enough, this just adds to it. I mean, there's no more conversation. There's no more reason for me to go there. Before, I could post an ad for my group, and the next day, I would check for any replies. That isn't possible anymore. (and I never really post threads in the first place.) And sadly, many are just to lazy to PM someone via the Classifields.

And to be more honest, I think that whole forum should just be deleted. According to polls held in this forum, most people never check that forum anyways. And with clan-matches gone, many clans have broke up. Not to mention the directories in the stickies are covered in "Anonymous User (Deleted)."

Hmm.. I really don't know whether to agree or disagree. People can also find XBL and clan partners there too, you know. Although I have only used it a few times..

I think it should, provided things are a bit different than they were before. No flaming, but I would encourage people to ask questions about the groups, and to share experiences with potential members.

Weird, I was actually thinking about this.

The reason there's a no reply rule, at least in my eyes, is that people would intentionally bump their ad up so they get more publicity. Then the moderators would have to spend more time tending to that section, and I don't think they want to do that because no one likes that section. LoL, I jest, but really, it would a lot of extra work.

What I was thinking is that there should be a rule to how many post are allowed. Like maybe 10, then locked? Just a suggestion.

With the search feature, it should be "1 ad per member for a particular group or clan".

For example, someone creates an ad and it's possible to find other ads for the same thing from the same member.... permanent blacklisting for abusing the classifieds.

With the search feature, age of the ad is no longer a problem. Make your ad, make it once, and don't worry about what page it is on.

The member could (and should) search the forum themselves for their membername, and see what ads they already have. If they have one already for a particular group or clan, then they would know that they shouldn't create another. The ninjas would use the same method to spot abuse.

Now I'm don't want to question your authority, but isn't a perma-ban just a tad harsh for a double ad post? I see where you're coming from, and I agree: Making the same ad for something you advertised a week ago should warrent punishment. But is a perma-ban necessary? Keep in mind, I'm only curious, I'm not questioning you.

I think the "no-reply" rule should be abolished, but the forums itself should stay. It's just as useful and active as Voting Booth or The Maw. If a forum were to be deleted, The Gallery hasn't been updated in, like, a year. Just my opinion.

since the search feature is now allegedly looming on the horizon, the Classifieds could eaily be revamped and would NOT require replies.

All that would need to be involved is for posters in The Classifieds to make sure their posts have clear and easily found keywords.

By making a post that states:

Title:Looking for a clan

Hi, I am a *hardcore* gamer that plays a lot of *MLG* customs and I am *looking* to join a *clan* that plays the way that I do.

PM me!

then a clan manager could search on the keywords "hardcore, MLG, looking, and clan" and find that post.

Someone advertising a group or clan could make a similar post and it would be easy for potential recruits to find those ads no matter what page they are on and no replies would be required or recommended. PM's would then be best.

*Gasp*

Recon, once again you fail at grammer. Is that allowed? What's wrong with you lately.

The main reason for me being more strict in enforcing the "no reply" rule in The Classifieds was because of the extreme amount of flaming going on in there. It is much easier to enforce the rule by locking any threads with a single reply in it rather than waiting until it gets out of hand and a bunch of people get blacklisted. Basically, it makes my life easier.

If you guys knew how much I jump from forum to forum to forum with multiple windows open, you'd understand why I don't feel like reading through all of the threads in The Classifieds of all forums to make sure people are being civil.

Relax, I am only offering my opinion.

My opinion is that advertising on Bungie.Net is a privilege. One that should never be abused.

If we are soon to have a tool that allows members to properly search the Classifieds for ads of interest, then the creators of those ads have a responsibility. They have a responsibility to make their ads clear, easy to locate using the search and never, EVER spam or abuse the forum.

So my view? If someone is abusing and making multiple ads for the same thing? Oh yeah, remove them and their ads by making their account and posts invisible. Why not a shorter blacklisting? Well, when it is over, their multiple ads will still be there, visible, intrusive and showing others that spamming is tolerated.

But that is my opinion, not a rule. I enforce Bungie rules, I don't set them. If I am told that there is a certain policy, I follow and enforce it as best I can.

And if they do get a blacklisting, they deserve it, anyone who breaks the rules deserve it, because they also have a responsibility to read the rules.

yoo•zel- ('yoo-zhul): slang: vb.

Officium quod Fidelitas.

I think we've made it quite apparent that the Classifieds is not a place for conversation. Think of it much like your own local news paper's classifieds section, what do you want more information on a job listing or something for sale? You call, in this instance you'd message the thread creator. Open discussion in the Classifieds usually turns into group or clan flaming, which leads to a whole bunch of unhappy people and the Moderator looking like the bad guy, despite the rules that have existed for more than a year now.

In the end I disagree that the rules for the Classifieds should be changed. It was never meant to be a forum for discussion.

Wow, nice generalization.

If they are organized and easy to use, I think that more people than present will use it.

thank you.

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

Classified I believe is just as bad as Random invite. Random invites are annoying and the Chapter Admin should be careful not to recruit spammers (possibly shockers) in their group.

That's my opinion. Just leave it as it is.

The Classifieds help isolate the ads. I would rather have them than see more ads in the other forums.
