Help!

I've just bought some 5.1 speakers to enhance my enjoyment of Halo and downloaded the latest NVidia Drivers (NForce 2 system) and yet, there's nothing coming out of the rear speakers when I play Halo!!!!

Am I missing something obvious?

I have enabled 5.1 speaker support under control panel (Win 2000 SP4 btw)

DVDs play in all speakers.

Any thoughts?

NVIDIA drivers won't change the way sound comes out of your speakers. Check with your soundcard setup to see if it supports 5.1, and if so, read the soundcard's manual to find out how to set it up.

As I said, DVDs play fine - so the soundcard supports 5.1 and is set up correctly. I know the speakers work.

One observation I have made is that when I connected the speakers to another PC and played a CD in Windows Media Player 9, sound came from all speakers, but on my Shuttle, it doesn't.

So DVDs and the speaker configuration program show no rear speaker problems.

What now?
