Butane: To protect the world from devastation!
sir_brilliant: To unite all people within our nation!
Rainman89: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
sir_brilliant: To extend out reach to the stars above!
SpaceGhostFlyer: Jessie!
Butane: James!
sir_brilliant: Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light
Butane: Surrender now or prepare to fight
sir_brilliant: Meowth, that's right!

don't you guys have HFCS for a reason?

The smart moderator who moved it the second time would choose not to select the option "leave a link to the original thread" option, so that the thread keeps its post ID. When mods move a thread to a new forum, they can choose to leave a linking thread behind in the original forum. That linking thread gets the original thread's post ID, and the original thread gets a brand new ID in its new forum. But if they choose to not leave that linking thread, the original thread is moved to the new forum, and retains its old post ID.

So if a thread (let's imagine it has the post ID 777) was moved from the Underground to Zanzibar, and the mod left a linking thread behind, which gets to have the 777 ID, the original thread gets a new ID number, say, 778. Then another mod decides the thread belongs in New Mombasa, but doesn't leave a linking thread behind. The moved thread retains the ID 778. The upshot of this is that the url in the linking post in the Underground (which has the ID 777) links to bungie.net/forums/posts.aspx?PostID=778, so the curious user who clicks on the link is taken to the thread immediately.

Ah, I forgot that if we decide to not leave the link behind it will keep the same postID. Well, there ya go.

That's what I did. Perhaps I'm smart after all.

What does the move toolbar look like? The group mods don't have it obviously....Maybe with the next update the possibilty to have more than one forum will be created. Then I will know, if a mod won't tell me.

The best example is t his thread. As you notice, each succesive thread has a higher postID, but I'd be able to change the link in the first thread to direct people to the third thread (but that wouldn't apply to this one, since it ends up back in the same forum and the other 2 should just be deleted).

That was good, dmbfan! I like it when the mods get in an argument or just post after each other, that is cool.

It's all sparklely, shiny and magically pretty.

*Looks into sun* Wow, I now know what the toolbar looks like.

It's all sparklely, shiny and magically pretty. And the text is in Cantonese... (a mystery that I have not been brave enough to ask about, probably has something to do with the sparklelyness).

Group admins might have gotten it, but they would have probably put their eye out or something.

I don't have the move option in my group, but I can lock, pin, and Temperarly ban...scary... They are very cool and pretty buttons, but I only uesed the lock and unlock one. Only to post that someone spelt Shishka's name wrong...
