I was playing CTF on Damnation. I was on Blue. A Red player spotted me coming up the ramp and ducked inti the Teleporter at the top of the ramp. I followed right on his heels. We both teleported to a part of the map I've never been to– I think it was high above on some ot the pipes and ledges you can't normally reach.

Anyone else ever had that or similar freaky happenings?

We were playing no sheilds and we killed each other really quickly, so I didn't get a chance for sight seeing.

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

Hmmm...odd. Maybe you had just never used that particular teleporter before or the game was lagging? I have no idea...and that has never happened to me before. Weird : /

Nah, I've played this map lots and even explored it when empty. This is where I think I ended up. One of us was in the "turret" and one on the pipe.

I think it's either a glitch caused by two people going through at the same time, (or 2 people from opposite teams), or a deliberate easter egg made to work only under certain circumstances.

It could be...I doubt it's an easter egg, but it could definetly be a glitch....try it out with friends!

Could it be a modded map? Modders like to do things like that to screw with the players.

I was on the SoC server, or another Christian server, and they tend not to mod their maps. I went through the TP dozens of times in that game and never ended up in the spot that I did when I went through right behind the Red player.

If two people go through the teleporter at the same time, often the game cant figure out where to send you, so it puts you in a often extremely random spot in the map.

Ive had it happen to me several times.

Did you not read, Nessy? He said that it was on a server where there were no mods.

I once played a game of team oddball on Derelict at the TUI server, where I caught the oddball and dashed through one of the lower level teleporters, while I was being pursued by two enemies. Instead of running away from the teleporter, I camped, waiting them to come through. I jumped and meleed them in the back as they spawned, but when they spawned, they pushed me through the walls of the teleporter, and I fell through the floor and ended up on the lower level of the map, making an excellent getaway while getting in some nice melee kills in the process. I have that video on Fraps if anybody wants to see it.
