Ive installed Halo CE onto my PC and when i double click the icon for it to run it begins to load fine, the 'Halo' logo shows up on full screen as the game is loading and then it shuts off and nothing....

The game just will not run at all.

I have played the game on this pc before.
My brother has it installed on his pc (would there be a clash with the key code being on 2 pcs?)

Hm. What dyou mean by shuts off? As in, the computer entirely cuts the power and turns off? Or that the program doesn't run? Or...?

And what are your system specs?

If your computer is indeed shutting completely off, it might be overheating or using a faulty power supply unit. If it's just quitting Halo and jumping back to the desktop, it might be an incompat issue fixed by downloading a driver.

Hm...you might want to try going to Nvidia's official website. Once there, find your specific graphics card and download the latest driver for that card. That should fix the problem.

I think I know what the problem is. You probably need to install the Halo 1.07 patch, as there is an incompatibility error between 128 MB cards, Halo PC, and Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Talk about ignorance. Yes. In fact, this goes with any PC game today. In the User's License Agreement, it clearly states that you are only allowed to install one legal copy on one PC. That means you aren't allowed to install the same copy of Doom 3 with the same CD-key on three different computers. You can still, let's say, play Halo campaign if you install the same CD with the same keycode on two computers, but you can't play multiplayer on a LAN or over the internet. (even though nowadays you can find a new copy of Halo for just $20, seriously, don't ask people why you can't play with others when you installed the same game on multiple computers with the same copy when you should just buy another copy if you wish to do so.)

The reason they do this is to prevent illegal copies from being created, and that's what CD keys are for. However, if all you wish to do is to simply play the Halo campaign, then just install the patch.

Yes, not to mention, it would be illegal if he didn't.

Update your graphics drivers and install DirectX 9.0

I also have a problem with running the Custom edition.

The screen keeps resizing itself when I run the game. It would go from one small corner in the screen to fullscreen and repeat. What can I do to prevent this from happening?

iblodgett. Fix your resolution, on some models, their Cards are screwed up in some cases, so that if you have the wrong reolution, Halo game-play will tunr you sideways for some reason, idk. Test all of the resolutions in Video Settings.
