I made a story up for my AP english class. We were supposed to take a list of 30 some-odd spooky vocab words and write a story - even just a buncha sentences, random and out of place, containing the specific words in their correct context. Only had to be a paragraph long.
I spent the next two weeks writing my own Halo fan-fiction. 25 pages long.
I got an A+.
Basically, i twisted a little bit of the story, and laid this out:
The Covenant have set up a small outpost on Tau Ceti 7 (OK, i have no CLUE whether or even IF Tau Cet exists, and if a body within it's system can be labelled 7, but it was the first thing that came to my head. Sorry.) in search of another artifact thought to have been left by the Forerunner. A small stealth cruiser, about half the size of the Truth & Reconciliation, is stationed 300 meters above the camp, which consists of a bunch of buildings - mess hall, ammo dump, airfield, and the main HQ.
It's more a quick, whimsical story, but i outlined three seperate teams of the SPARTAN group - this is pre-Reach's-downfall, mind you - with John, Linda, Kelly, and a few others instructed to capture and detain one resident Prophet, with the other teams sent to find the artifact the Covies are searching for, and one to provide the distraction, to lure forces away from where the other two teams must operate.
I had a lot of fun with the combat scenarios, and aplied as much of my knowledge as i could to this silly little story. I didn't blow it WAY out of proportion, like giving the MC a girlfriend, or creating a whole new character, or the explanation of the Forerunner, or ANYTHING like that.
Think of it as another mission, as described in increments in, say, the Fall of Reach novel.
I was GOING to submit it to HBO, but never got around to it. Can someone tell me how i could get recognition - or is there anyone who'd like to read it personally?
Perhaps someone could tell me how to host it in some way - a hasty site construction, just so i could make a link or something to it in my Sig.
I'm a newb when it comes to prgramming, HTML, etc. - but i'd like to learn.
