Anyway, this is a PC gaming forum. You're going to get biased answers here (even if they are right). Because PCs > consoles because they have the mouse and keyboard.

Yeah dude, I thought the same as you. Controller vs Keyboards.. controllers SUCK BUTT. Mice are much more precise, but controllers are just cooler! ;D

I wish everyone on HaloPC played with controllers.

And post that said you need auto-aim? I dislike that comment. You made Halo2 sucky with auto-aim. Halo1 was awesome, it took skill. Auto-aim made Halo2 baaad!

No, ALL console games need auto aim. Just osme had more than others. H2 had much more than H1.

Keyboard & Mouse beat the pants out of a controller any day.

I'm aware of the whole sticky aiming with controllers and consoles. For playing halo PC I always use a keyboard/mouse but I prefer playing with a controller on a console than a mouse/keyboard PC. The reason I play Halo PC is because there is so much more you can do with it than halo xbox like custom edition and custom maps. But overall I like controllers more even though they need sticky aim because it just feels.... right for me. (and I like the vibration too)

I believe Master Kim might have said something like this before but I kinda think there might be a little... something (for lack of better word) in Halo PC to help you hit more but I am not sure if it is due to crappy netcode and lag.
I have noticed sometimes it seems like even if your recticle is a little behind them or something (assume there is 0 lag), it will still give them damage. Now it seems like its hard to find a good snipers with shields these days so if you look at my montage (go to google video and type in Halo PC montage, its called RustBandits Halo PC Montage or something, it should be near the top) There is a part in wizard between 1/4 and 1/3 way through the movie where I get like a triple kill no scope but on the last kill it looks like I missed a little behind the person and it still gave me the kill. (it was a no shields game though : P)

All console games? No, I doubt it. Just most first-person shooters. Even then, games like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for the Xbox 360 has no auto-aim, so the controls are a bit jerky.

Mouse/Keyboard > Controller.

It's just a personal preference. I mean, come on, look at BodyCount, he plays competitive Halo with a controller and beats most of you mofos with it.

Eh.. it's not much of a personal preference as it is.. how badly you want to get owned by other players.

I use a keyboard and mouse for PC games. But I like to cuddle down on a couch with a controller on Halo 2.

My two cents says it's all personal preferance. I personally Prefer a keyboard except, odd;ly, when I'm sniping. For some reason I seem to snipe better with a controller than the key board. As for overall skill, haven't attended a fair few tourneys and lan parties I've seen some people do SCARY -blam!- with both controllers and keyboard/mice. It all comes down to personal preferance and what your skill with a particular item is.

A person with a Mouse would pwn someone with a controler. The only thing good about controlers are that they give you more control of movement (not aim). You can wal fast or slow and you get better diaginal movements.

I am more of a console gamer so I say controller. I do play PC games but not 100%. I play consoles like 70% while PC's 30%(getting a gaming laptop soon so it should be around 40%). Sorry but, I like contollers more.

The Keyboard/mouse gives an advantage over the controller but it doesn't guarentee victory. This is a warning for all you guys who think that KB/mouse Wtfpwns a controller: There is a player attached to that controller. And if that player is much better then you your probably going to lose. When Crysis(sp?) or whatever the name of the FPS they plan on releasing for both PC and Xbox comes out I don't want you guys slitting your wrists because you are getting abused by a 12-yo with a controller.

Two equally matched players yes the guy with the mouse should win. But don't underestimate the skill of the controller crowd.

My nephew is scary on the Xbox. He can pick out a target and headshot it in the snap of a finger. This is on Boarding action with a 4 screen split screen on a crappy TV.

where did you hear crysis was coming out for the XBOX? Cry-tek said it was PC exclusive ftm.
Agreed. It's PC-exclusive. I think Iggwilv is talking about other games, like Shadowrun and Huxley.

Anyway, of course it's all about skill. But face it, when everybody around you is playing with mice and keyboards and you're playing with a controller, you're gimped. You're at a disadvantage. I can pop noobs off with the controller on Halo 2 with my sniper rifle while in midair, but the mouse and keyboard is superior.

Well I was just thinking just because whenver I play Halo 2 I notice i'm alot more fluid with motion and stuff. But if i'll pwn more with a keyboard, then ill stick with that

I don't know what my graphics card is

But these are my computer specs:

imac wth new Intel chip

17" inch

mighty mouse

and I can run Halo with all the top notch settings pretty smoothly.

I'll get back to you on the graphics card

Probobly the only reason you are more "Fluid" is because aiming with a controller is really slow, so its impossible to look jerky or out of control like you can with a mouse. Just as a demonstration as to how slow a controller is, do this: Go play Halo 2 and look straight up, then try and look behind you while also returning the view to looking straight ahead (rather than up at the ceiling). It takes a good second or two to do this, while it would be instantaneous with a mouse.

But anyway, Halo 2 has a rediculous amount of auto-aim (all console shooters have some degree of it it because aiming with analog sticks is so inaccurate) so you think that you're a lot better with a controller than you really are. I thought that I was decent with a controller, but after playing Halo for the PC with my 360 controller, I was shocked. I thought it would feel somewhat similar to Halo 1, but instead it felt like a completely new game and was really hard to control. And you know why it was so hard? Because there was no assistance and you actually had to aim for yourself.

Same here, used it for 5 minutes never otuched it again.

He pretty much did.

Listen, there's nothing wrong with using a controller to play PC games. Platformers and racing games are better for gamepads than the mouse and keyboard. Also, sometimes I use the controller when I'm playing Halo on the campaign, when I'm not playing seriously.

The only time I've ever played multiplayer with my Xbox 360 controller is when I was hosting a game. But I still got a ton of kills and managed to pull off some leet no scopes.

I would say keyboard/ mouse, for one because they are easier to use, and two because a controller is a pain in the @$$ to set up to work fluidly like the keyboard and mouse do... i say this because i tried it and... well, you get the idea.
