My xbox is doing some crazy things. The road infront of our place was repaired the other day and there was a lot of dust. Since then the xbox hasnt been loading quickly. While playing levels it will momentarly freeze.

Is there somthing wrong to justify buying a new xbox before nov9th or can I clean it out with some kind of cleaning disk?

Has nobody else ever had a problem like this or is my xbox the only one?

ok was your xbox on while the construction was under way? if so then the xbox might have sucked in alot of dust. what you do is, open the xbox, and vacum clean the inside, especially the fans. be careful with the vacum cleaner or you will destory some vital parts =P

My xbox is on several hours every day haha.

I will vacume it out as you suggested...was hopping I wouldnt have to do that...the top is a beoch to open. For some reason I dont think they want you in there. Is there no blank disk I can run threw that will clean the lens or is that just for CDs and DVD players?

no it dosent get that bad on games even with the old drive. I have an old drive x-box myself and I dont experience any lag in halo.

oh and btw even if there is a disk to clean the lens I'm guessing the problem isnt the lens, something must have gotten into the xbox. oh btw, when playing the xbox if you even smell a hint of smoke DIVE toward the xbox and turn it off, then open the top ASAP. if dust clogged your fanning system and there is dust in the Xbox itself, the xbox will ignite.

trust me I've had that happen on my PS =P

If the warenty has expired then go to www.llama.com, they have walkthroughs on how to clean out xboxes, replaces broken parts, ect. It's a lot cheaper than buyin a new one.
