But at what settings? I'm positive Halo PC will work with all Max settings with no problem, but what about everything else?

It will work fine. Like I'm pretty sure you could run Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion at 1280 X 1024 at a decent framerate with all the settings maxed. But hey, dude, it's a good system, and with two gigabytes of RAM, it will be able to handle the games just fine.

Oblivion was the one I was most worried about. People with quite-high end PC's have been having trouble running Oblivion on High detail.

Dude, these games will work fine at max settings at decent resolutions. Those games you mentioned will work well. You didn't even need to mention Call of Duty, HL2, Far Cry, and CS, because they work well with lower-end cards like the GeForce 6600.

Um...it's...a...well, it's a DELL.

Yeah.

...um...

...shoving my "Dell=Shoddy" bias aside into a corner of my brain, yeah, I'd say that's a pretty good setup you've got there. Keep in mind that the chipset is integrated, meaning that unless it has that 256 MB RAM integrated/dedicated to the chipset, it WILL share RAM with that 2 gig you have, reducing it down to only 1gig and some odd megabytes of RAM.

Otherwise, it should be fine. Happy pwnage.

Why doesn't anyone ever get a MacBook?

I have an iMac, and Halo looks beautiful on it.

It only costed $1800.

You're the noob, I was just joking. I'm getting really sick of you calling people noobs and claiming to "own" people at Halo.

No need to flame becuz he uses a Mac, I personally have no problem with them I just prefer PC's more. $1800 is a good price when I compare my laptop. $1895 for the laptop itself. Total:$2050.00

P.S.I am planning to get Vista only if I will still be able to play the games that run on Windows XP. Also, I am quite worried about how much Vista will be. I'm guessing around $300. Oh and, people still arent answering all my questions. What settings should I be able to run this games on? I don't mean resolution, I mean detail-wise.

That's because I do. :) Besides, me saying that I pwn noobs on Halo PC has nothing to do with this discussion, does it?

The gaming laptop sounds like a good choice, if you have the money for it. You'll be able to handle games really well, don't worry about it.

An intel card?!?Wow, on my Dimension 4600 with an Extreme Controller 2 screwed up Halo. Big time. No shadows, blood, bulletholes, the MC is gray(as well in multiplayer),and then ground maps were just colored bump textures. Thank god I got a GeForce 6200 to get it to look and act properly.

P.S.I don't care about battery life. At home I'll keep my battery plugged in. From what I know, my laptop can last 7 hours without the charger. Oh and, I won't be getting X-fire on my laptop. It didn't work 2 well on my desktop.

Sorry, I can't. I think it gave this desktop a virus and I'm not going to risk my $2000 laptop just so I can download a gaming service. This desktop that I'm on right now has been doing some weird things. I uninstalled X-fire last night and everything seems to be ok.

A virus, dude? Not likely. You probably just need a firewall.

What type of Firewall? Does that mean I won't be able to play Halo over the internet with people I don't know? If not, then how do I get one?

I believe a firewall comes with a copy of Windows XP Service Pack 2. I have that firewall and it's on right now. It usually doesn't causes me any problems and it works well, blocking any spyware, adware, and viruses from entering my PC.
