I get the feeling you don't think the Havok engine will be that good for modding.
Just curious are all those perameters in that tag explained somewhere? That is a crapload of variables for one item. Now I can understand how the physics get so good in these games.
No, the HEK has got to be the worst documented SDK released.
It's easily the worst editing tool I've ever used. And I was on the initial beta testing staff for MS InterDev 1.0.
It's only documentation is basic, and I mean really basic, map making, compiling errors, and tools overview. Everything else has had to of been figured out, hacked, or unlocked by members of the community.
This is compounded by the fact that the Halo editing community has an extremely high percentage of Mine!Mine!Mine!Mine! people in it who refuse to share knowledge. There are some very good and helpfull people, but I've never seen so many "Figure it out yourself, it's my tag and you can't have it" ashsholes in any modding community ever.
News flash -blam!-s; it's NOT your work, it's NOT your tag, it's Bungies'. Not wanting people to glom on to "your" work is pretty hypocritical when all you are doing is glomming on to Bungie to begin with.
I lost all respect for CMT when I saw they had "their" tags "protected", and if people begged enough they "might" release some. I lost even more respect and had a good laugh when their protection scheme resulted in bugs in their release, and I laughed my ash off when it took all of five minutes for me to break it (with dot halo no less) anyways.
Funny how modding for UT you don't have this problem, as long as you credit the source, which benefits the community because you are'nt having to re-invent the texture wheel.
