Subject: I am a failure.

I tried everything to create a unique and complex group. I attempted to make it fun. I even gave leadership positions out so as to make everyone a part. Departments, agencies, houses. Ranking systems, law systems. Tournaments, sports arenas. I am a failure. I removed everyone from my friends list. I left the clan. I destroyed the group. Archontos is a mirror of my failure. Look upon it and gasp.

Other than we have no idea what group your talking about, don't feel bad about it. Every day groups rise and fall. Especially when they get big, it is no easy task to simply keep it running, let alone make sure it is stable and doing well.

Yeah i tried real hard to do the same thing, its just impossible. That is its impossible to do without spamming people asking them to join which I tried to do.

Good to see at least somebody takes this place seriously

I am sincerely disappointed in everyone except JIMH. JIMH, have a gold star.

',:\ IF YA SAHMELLLL

I'm not sure whether this goes in this section, but i'll answer you anyways. I feel that your group may be too complex. Usaully the simplest ideas are the key. Give your group one main focus and let people brach out from there.

Aye, I am in two fanfic groups, and the one with 6 members is more active than the one with 300.

Quite true. I have my own group that I started not to long ago and it's having a bit of trouble taking off. I'm trying to not resort to PMing people with invites, although I may have to eventually. For now I'm just using ads.

Yes you are a damn failure. Your road ahead looks VERY bleak.

And what's with the whole 'Lets quote like Achronos does! Backwards!'??

Just PM people to join. Have a single unique idea. For MBT, it's their strategy guide. For PF, it's the fact that they're converting fan ideas and sending them to Bungie. You just need to think of one.

Hey, I do it too sometimes. Don't jump on his back, because he may have typed a reply, then forgot to quote. "Because Achronos does it" isn't always the reason.

On topic: Like what was stated before, you probably made things too complicated. Start small, and as your group grows, you can branch out a bit.

Strong communities don't form instantly. You don't make an "amazing group" by starting with absolutely nothing and magically having hundreds of people.

Features, ranks, gimmicks are all worthless. If you can't make a good group without them, how do you think you're going to make a good group with them?

Kids these days. So busy clammoring over features and crap that they never recognize that what's really important is in the core.

And let's not forget it takes people... with similar interests. Like a focus group! Or a rehab center! Yay!

Even though your group may not have turned out the way you wanted, it doesnt make you a faliure, it just means that the next time, you must try to do it differently. I don't like spam recruitment, but if you PM me, I'll join your group.

Skillet was here and referred to himself in the third person.

You're not a failure...you just need to keep trying.

My first group died because of inactivity...so I created another one. To me and the members that post, it's doing much better than the original. I "fell off the horse" but I also got back on.

That's what you need to do.

DO NOT DO IT! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING IT! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT NOT DOING IT!

I suck at groups. 2 of them died. One stayed for 3/4 of a year, the other: 2 months. All its about is Halo 3, Halo 3, Halo 3. I want to stray from Halo 3. Sadly my luck sucks.

Managing groups and keeping them active is difficult. We all have had our successes and failures.

A core of what? Core of fabulous content? How can you have content when you don't have features? The Seventh Column is weak right now because all the group communties look the same and provide the same sort of content. Why? Because we only have a couple useful features and maybe two or three usable themes. Features, ranks and gimmicks all help make groups different and worth visiting.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

We need a revamp of groups. I know it is too much to ask but sue me.

We need more theme approval (perhaps allow this privelidge to theme masters) more group to group interaction and more customisation among groups in general (think colours, tourney pages, video/site/resource linking).

I am sick of seeing the same crap in every group. So far the most outrageous thing I have seen lately is someone using the ONI theme... WOW!

Are you insane?! We'd get the purely economical from Fragula and the themes likely to inflame, or be purely final-fantasy based from Psyched! I'd go insane!
