When I try to set up my computer to act as a server it does not work. I tryed to set my DSL modem to forward the most common ports (1000-3000 right?) and set it up to use port 2302 and people can see my game but cant actualy join it. any ideas where I went wrong?

2302 and 2303, actually.

"Noob questions again?" I don't seem to remember you ever posting around here before. Certainly wasn't a n00b question, what you just asked.
