I am at the final checkpoint before me and the other soldiers get beamed up into the covenant ship. I have very little health left and I am out of Sniper ammo. I managed to kill off all the covenant soldiers before the soldiers arrive, but after that I just get my ass killed for one reason or another. What should I do.

I already tried taking over the gun turrets, but they aren't very helpful when I have grunts throwing plasma grenades at me. Any ideas?

Are you nuts! I can't just go in and blast at whatever I want. I'd get torn to pieces in less than 30 seconds. I'm not talking about easy here, this is legendary I'm talking about, sure I get 64 sniper rounds, but there is like 100 of thos covenant soldiers I need to kill before I get to the gravity lift and even then I have to kill 10 squadrons of covenant soldiers not to mention the Hunters I have to deal with before I get on the covenant ship. I thought Hunters were hard enough on normal with their invincability to plasma grenades who knows what they are capable of on legendary.

shoot the hunters on the orange spot..1 hit kill...

Also..there are sniper rounds inside the ship also, not jus before you get to the gravity lift..

for me, that level is easy now...but thats me

If you're complaining with that part, wait till you get inside the ship. The very next section is, in my opinion, the hardest segment of the game on legendary.

As to the part you're having trouble with--make sure you're getting the active camo available in the previous area. With it, you can run in ahead of your troops and use from-behind melees to take out everyone at the gravity lift, save the shade turrent gunners--but they go down easily enough with a quick sniper round. When the covie dropship hits, grenades and a healthy dose of AR will do the trick. Mostly, if not all, grunts anyway. When the Covies start dropping from the grav lift, time each drop with a grenade or two. Always focus fire on large threats first--elites, then jackals, then grunts. Stay out of the turrents--mobility is your friend. Refer to the above post on dealing with Hunters. You can also lure them into a melee war--get close enough that they'll charge you, sidestep, and melee them in the back. Two or three melees is all you need to put them down and they're fairly easy to sidestep.

If you are struggling at this point i suggest you start all over. Once you get into that ship, all hell breaks loose. After you get on that ship prepare to die. Alot. You are about to encounter what many people think of as the hardest battle in the game. If you go into that battle in bad shape you are doomed.

I decided to restart the level and now I'm at the same part as I was before. Thank god it didn't take as long. I'm at full health and I have about 12 shots in my sniper rifle left. Thanks for the advice.

I beat the whole game on Legendary, and I agree. The next part is the hardest. Always look at your radar and rigtht before they open the door throw a plasma grenade. Also, the sniper rifle isn't going to help you here, but keep it anyway for later on.

When the doors open up and a few Grunts pop out, kill them and hide in there, then snipe the Elites while they don't see you. But watch your back because covies can still come thought the door behind you.

you don't need the sniper rifle for the next part tho, i mean just using a charge up - AR combo can take out the golden elites, and as for the rest, just make sure u keep picking up plasma grenades and just us radar to anticipate attacks. But you think that part is hard? Just wait till you rescue captain keyes and have to watch as he repeatedly goes charging into plasma grenades and sword elites....Usually I end up capping him in the head after about the third try and then go raging off to do some other level.
