Many people have talked about getting mods, or other people on at various times so that someone is always on to help/stop new people, or anyone that needs help or has posted wrong, and I just wanted to get an idea of what time zone you all are in, so we might be able to organize a group of us that can keep the forums clean and help out the mods a little.

Feel free to post on anything to help with this.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Yay for east coast!

I am normally on from about 4 ET to 10ET with the occasional break for dinner or XBL. Somedays, like today, later than 10 ET. Somedays I can get on in the morning. Whatever. Weekends I have plenty of time, less I have a school project or something. hell I am off tomorrow and friday so maybe I can help out with the day shift :D

  • 05.19.2004 8:29 PM PDT

bah

Because everyone know the Canadian time-zone is really big! :P
It's not what time zone your in, but when you're on the most. During school, I was on a lot, all day long. Now that it's over, I'll be on less during the day and more from 9PM-3AM Central time. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be on during the day, just not for 2 or 3 hours at a pop twice a day.

Um, just wondering, but doesn't Canada have the same timezones the US does?

  • 05.20.2004 4:01 AM PDT

I dunno thats why I just put Canada :-O

I'm usually on from like 4 Central to about 10, but theres small periods of time when im playing Halo CE, or outside sitting for a few minutes, but im almost at my comp 24/7 when im not at school. Then I also get on in the morning for 30 minutes at about 7 30 to 8 central, and then theres various times when im not doing anything in school and i just go straight to the computers :-D. Bungie.net is taking away my life :-P.

You didn't know Canada was its own timezone? Yeah, it's like 25 O'clock there. Or something.

Ah, its great to not have scool *dances*

  • 05.20.2004 5:47 AM PDT

Bah shut up...LoL...I have 6 days left after today..How is it 25 o'clock when theres only 24 hours in a day???

  • 05.20.2004 5:49 AM PDT

bah

Canada has more time zones than the United States has. That's only when you include the areas really far north and far away though. THis is how many hours off of standard time they are.

[typical US zones]
USA Eastern: -5 hours
USA Central: -6 hours
USA Mountain: -7 hours
USA Pacific: -8 hours
USA Alaska: -9 hours
USA Aleutian: -10 hours
USA Hawaii: -10 hours
[/typical zones]

[typical Canadian zones]
Canada Atlantic: -4 hours
Canada Eastern: -5 hours
Canada Central: -6 hours
Canada Mountain: -7 hours
Canada Yukon & Pacific: -8 hours
[/typical zones]
[those crazy Canadian zones]
Canada Newfoundland: -3.5 hours
Canary Islands: 0 hours
Canton Enderbury Islands: -11 hours
[/crazy zones]

A better poll is probably "How far off GMT are you?"

That is a good point, goweb, but there will be those too lazy to figure it out and say "Um... the west coast one..."

Either way the time zones won't help you schedule moderators -- all the moderators need to get syncronized and separate times ( Assume everyone is eastern or Pacific -It doesn't matter - because you still need someone 24 hours a day - It's just a matter of getting moderators together.

  • 05.20.2004 12:34 PM PDT

I'm usually on between 12:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon, and somewhere between 6:00 through 1:00 at night (central time).

We arn't trying to schedule moderators because all of us arn't...I'm just wondering who is on and when, so i'll know if i'm not the only person who wants to keep the forums in good shape.

I feel special. SO far, I'm the only one in Mountain Time. Yup, I get to fry my butt off in Arizona! That's OK, though. I'm usually on in the afternoons and evenings from about 3:30-4:00 and 7:30-10:00. I'm on more during the weekends and less when I have a big school project :). I'd be happy to help out in any way possible.

To Reginko (damn your name's hard to spell)- Yay Aussies! I spent three weeks in Australia two years ago and I really enjoyed it. Where do you live? Do you eat Vegemite? have you been to the Great Barrier Reef? Just wondering.

  • 05.20.2004 4:18 PM PDT

Getting an idea of where everyone is time-wise is a good start.
Maybe this is a stupid question, but were you planning on figuring out some sort of schedule to email potential moderators/helpers to have them monitor certain hours of the day?
I'm online pretty irregularly, but I'd definitely set aside time if it was to help monitor anywhere on Bungie.net.

  • 05.20.2004 8:56 PM PDT

To Baerdog7 (your name is too easy to spell) - I live in Perth (in WA). I had Vegemite for lunch today. No, I have never been to the Great Barrier Reef.

I have two accounts and two computers. I can pretend to be two different people at the same time and work twice as hard that way. Or, be one person at a time and do whatever needs to be done in order to better the community. But, I feel as if me being on during normal non-school hours wouldn't do very much, the mods would be on then anyway (Hell, Shishka lives 15 miles away from me). But like I said, I will do my best to help out.

Well, not particularly E-mail them, but yesterday (being Thursday) I sent in a chapter to be approved called "The Keepers of Peace" and sent out about 8 PM's to various people who are active alot in the forums, like Rip, Banshee Barron, Halo 53, coylter, and a few others.

Two accounts is not a good thing. I'm not sure, but I think its against the terms of service or some thing like that.

Well, what do you want me to do about it? Its not like I know how to kill an account, even though I've already done it.
