Hey all. I am in the makings of a short story explaining the fall of Harvest. I am still writing, but just wanted to give you a heads up of what to come. It will be titled "Target: Harvest." The writing style will be very familiar to the other halo books and I am trying to incorporate as much information that I know into the text. For all those that are bored, here is a sneak preview of the story in the makings:
February 3, 2525/ Harvest/ 13:00:57/ Aboard the Argo.
“What in God’s name was that Lieutenant?!”
“Sir! We have a hull breach in sector 9, damage report is underway.”
“Get me the starboard side cameras on monitor 11, stat.”
“On it.”
“Damascus do you have any identification of that enemy vessel?”
The glowing white body of a human AI appeared above the control panel. Its warrior-like figure expressed its loyalty and discipline.
“No captain, this is an unknown vessel. In fact, I have never even seen the likings of this ship. I am go- Prepare for impact!”
A blue plasma beam soared through space and hit the scout ship Argo. When the UNSC first got word that harvest was under attack, the Argo was sent out for further investigation of the scene.
“Damage report… t-o-d-a-y…”
“Going sir. I don’t believe it.”
“Believe what lieutenant?”
“That beam… that beam just impacted in sector 9, the exact same place it impacted before. I have never seen such accuracy.”
“My calculations show that the probability of our technology being capable of reaching that accuracy is one to fifty-thousand nine-hundred seventy-eight. I am going to try and tap into there computer systems.”
“Good Damascus, tha- God dang it were we hit again?!”
“Sir, yes sir. And that’s not all; enemy boarding vessels are entering through the breached hull. Estimated time of arrival… is 30 seconds.”
