Ok so there's this new adapter coming out which lets you play the Xbox version of Halo with a mouse and keyboard, along with a host of other games. The mouse and keyboard if done properly should offer a noticable increase in accuracy. Is this cheating, are all of the pro Halo players going to need to become familiar with a new control interface?
Check it out here http://www.neoseeker.com/news/story/3930/ and here

Hopefully this won't prove to be any kind of problem but you never know..........

For people who play computer a lot it will help them and it will bring new challenges and more (better) enemies. It's not cheating they're just trying to get more people to play the game.

"If you knew how good I am you would think I'm modest."

I don't think it is possible to make it as good as a real keyboard mouse combo.
When they conver the analog aiming ot a mouse you will only be able to turn so fast with the mouse because the analog stick can only move so fast, unless there is some major hacking going on with that, and I doubt there is. Even if you put your sensitivity at 10 (it really isn't that fast, I use 10 with a controller).
I know I'm a lot better with a keyboard and mouse, but using it this way would be a lot different than on PC. When you first start moving the mouse it would always be slow, now matter how fast you move it, then get fast if you keep turning, this has to do with the way halo is programmed, so I really don't think it is possible to get around it.
You could possible gain a slight advantage once you got used to it, but I really doubt it would make a difference, since you lose all of the main advantages of a mouse.

Maybe not as acurate but it is so much faster. Doesn't matter if you can shoot a dime off a needle at 5km, if somebody's in your face with a shotgun speed and the ability to control your character with great ease is far more important

...What ever you prefere. Could be cheating though. On mechassault if you have a mad cat controller you run crazy fast.

You can move a mouse faster than you can turn with a shotgun, and if you have played with both and gotten used to them you would be able to do everything better with a mouse. I'm a hardcore PC UT2004 player and a hardcore Xbox Halo player. I can gun with the best of them in UT2004 and if you have seen anyone good play that you would know a controller has no chance. I'm also damned good at Halo, I played in the last AGP Halo 1 tourny in Chicago and I can gun with the best of them, and have seen the best play, they are no match for an expert player using a mouse.

I hear people say all the time they would play better with a controller, but this is because they haven't played with keyboard and mouse enough, or they are just plain stupid.

Like I said, it's whatever you prefere. But if the keyboard is so much better, Why are there so many controlllers for computer but only one or two deyboards for consoles? Not to be sarcastic but try upping the sensitivity. You just said that mice are more accurate AND faster. If they are faster aren't they harder to target Because you move so much? If the keyboard is so much better than why don't consoles have them as a standard? I think the controller is better because they fit your hand better. Your fingers are faster on them because the buttons are designed for playing games. A keyboard is designed for typing. It would take me like an hour to make this paragraph on a controller just like it would take me like an hour to get a half-descent kill ratio on the keyboard. If controllers don't stand a chance against a keyboard, why do people go through months trying to come up with the best controller possable for a pleasurable and unfrustrating gaming experience? Key boards are good for strategy like age of empires but I think they can improve on shooters. ...oh, and keyboards make my wrist hurt sometimes. But I guess it's personal preference.

I don't think it's cheating, but part of the draw of Halo is the ability
to sit back on the couch and beanbags with your buds and have
fun in front of the TV. I'm 100% sure that I'll have the most fun
hanging out with my friends in the living room than hanging out
by myself with my back straight in front of a desk.

I prefer to use the controller so I can sit back and relax instead
of getting twisted over a game to the point of doing everything
I can to gain an advantage. I play video games to relax, not to
win, so I don't care.

i can admit that i absolutely SUCK with a keyboard and mouse for computer FPS's, they just dont have the simplicity of use of the gamepad. With the gamepad i personally am more accurate and can turn faster, i wouldnt even bother with the keyboard/mouse peripheral (i doubt i spelled that correctly) because it would actually make me worse at the game. but there are people that could do way better with it than i could.

Agreed. If I am so bad with a controller (and I'm not all that good) that I felt that spending the money would someone "make me better", I think that I would be in for a surprise.

You're not that bad are you Recon? :P

(not that it's ever happened to me!)
Lets not go there... as for being "pwned"... you don't need to sink to their level Recon, it is still appropriate to speak with normal terminology :P

It isn't cheating. Gamers vary on preferences. I have seen gamepad users clean house and mice users hand out beat downs. Whatever you are comfortable with~ Like other have said, some users couldn't use either items well enough in combat to save their butts. Only advantage would be comfort. Either way, fight on.

I've seen both argued for quite strongly... so it really is a matter of preference and practice.

as it's an advantage anyone could have if they bought the thing...

I was skeptical of mouse/keyboard play as well for a while...my friend told me how much better it was, but i didnt believe.

i'm a dedicated halo pc and xbox player. I'm proficient with gamepad and mouse/key...but mouse is waaaay more accurate for me. I suually keep sensitivity on 6 for pc, 4 for xbox....i can circle strafe and move just as well on keyboard as i can with a controller.

It's all preference, and dictated to some extent by style of play.
