It shows up every few weeks. What do you expect on a website about a video game about killing aliens?

I think there is simple alien life but I doubt there is anything as advanced as humans or even flies

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Well that puts a sign of arogancy on humanity... why wouldn't there be things more advanced? Why the hell not, hmmmmmm?

I think there is everything out there. The universe is insanely huge, we've seen nothing yet. Already we've detected many planets orbiting sun-sized stars. There could be life anywhere! Even in our own solar system. Take Europa for example. I think there's everything out there. Life just starting to develop, species much more advanced then us. But I doubt there's much out there that look anything like humans.

I do think there is other life in the universe. There are billions, if not trillions of stars in our galaxy and trillions of galaxies in the universe. Chances that there is life in one of those solar systems.

Yes
To paraphrase someone
Not is only the universe strange, it is more strange than we could possibly imagine..
All things are possible.

And to paraphrase a shockingly bad movie -

If there isn't anything else out there -- it's an awful big waste of space.

You just had to do that, didn't you?

Actually, there are bacteria more evolved than humans in the sense that they operate more efficiently in their environment. I take it then that by "advanced" you mean either advanced intellectually or technologically.

Isn't there a crater in Nevada, which has a type of plant that grows, round the craters 30 meter radius, and no-where else on this planet... strange? Or is that just me :P

Sounds interesting. Could you possibly look it up and give some exact details?

Ditto

Anyone see or read the Andromedia Strain?

But about the crater, one reason for why it might have a unique type of vegetation is that that crater itself is a unique environment...

Perhaps a unique kind of mineral from the object that caused the crater?

It's possible, I'll have to look up on asteroid, meteor and other celestial object chemical makeup.

Also if the plants are old eneugh (as in species wise, and locale wise), they could have come from plants that were affected by the blast and heat and had survived (I doubt this one though..)

I was thinking more along the lines of how the terrain though, how it would affect the sunlight in and out of the crater..
