Subject: Request of the "no blogs" rule in The Flood to be lighten...

I think that the rule about no blogs in The Flood needs to be a little less strict. Today I spent about 30 minutes writing about the worst vacation of my life, and 10 minutes later it gets locked. I am not trying to get rid of the rule, because I understand like some things that shouldn't be put there, but to me I think it seems a whole lot better to enjoy a cool story about a bad vacation than to judge the population of Gruntfarmer and Java. Does anybody else feel this way?

The no blogs rule has been loosened. I wish they would go back to to the way they were enforcing it when Stosh went on the rampage.

On the other hand I can see where you are coming from. After all your intention was to tell a story. I can understand why you would be puzzled why your thread doesn't live on, but one
line
threads
of less substance do. That was the other side of the no blogs rule. No one liners.

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

It was a funny story though. This guy grabbed him by the shirt and told him to get away from his girl, and he said "I'll bxr you"

If it was loosened (even more), people would use The Flood as their own personal blog (even more). There is already a thread where you can show off your blog. Remember, the Flood is meant as a place to discuss non-Bungie related things like upcoming games, T.V., etc.

Don't loosen it up. Tighten it. I don't want to have to read about emos being emos and about people lying about loosing a leg or a family member.

Yeah it wasn't a one liner, it was like 8,000 characters. I was just telling about my sister wanting to play my Psp, me riding a roller coaster, and a little bit about BXRing an uber noob on the beach =D

A certain mod who will go unamed believes in "Locking n Mocking" when he should be more worried about the H3 forum.

Another mod more famous and more experienced in "locking n mocking" once blogged about roaches. That was, of course, OK.

For real dude if I was a mod I would lock that even if it was Shiska no one cares about big roaches in your house anymore than they do about my bad vacation, but they were just afraid to lose their little toolbar

There are certain places to post stuff like that.

Totally agrees with Search Engine. I prefer reading about your sis and you on vacation than having another brawl-thread over the ps3 or the wiiiii, not to mention all the other zillion threads of no purpose which are turned in to chat threads anyway by a few (yeah you mentioned two of them). Guess you just have to add a link or end it with a question like others do, that seems to work. Ive seen a couple of members ending their posts with "well this is gonna be considered a blog so im adding this link", that link is always hella offtopic which alone should lock the thread. On the other hand, we cant really blame the mods, your thread was easy to spot while in-thread-spam and liners actually acquires the mods to be reading every damn post, a task that would turn the most sane person crazy.

Heres another thing i dont get since we´re on the topic of rules; the mods are blacklisting a wellknown member, 1 minute later this member is back on another account. Why isnt this account blacklisted too (after the person has started using it ofcause, i dont expect the mods to know all the members accounts in advance) when its quite obvious that it is indeed the same person, i thought the basic idea was to give the person a time-out and not just the account?

Yea, Stosh was scary when he went rampant. He wasn't all nice and silly. But the rules are meant to be enforeced my moderators, who interpret them at their own will.

The one linear rule isn't being enforced anymore, seeing as how those were the only posts going on in The Flood. A whole posting shift needs to be made, where people are actually discussing things, instead of spamming to get people to notice them.

The Disembodied Soul checks the IPs of blacklisted people, and keeps them from posting with another account. Also, I think Master Forum ninjas can check the IPs and ban people that way. Unfortunately, it is too easy to get past the Soul, such as reseting your IP address.

That has to be the easiest detective work in the history of detective work, well atleast when it comes to the flood.

Put it this way, if you are in The Flood and you haven't been blacklisted...you are either lucky or inactive.

The ones who use their brain usually don't post. That falls under inactivity. :)

That is why you haven't seen me lately...that and I have other pressing issues to attend to.

But to get back on track...*cough*

The Rule is da' rule and Moderators are like The Supreme Court, the can interpret it however they please.

Cortana . . . don't become like that. Just don't.

As for blogs; Yeah, I think it oughtta be lightened up a little, too. I tend to make rather long OPs in my threads and keep them going, and I don't like it if people are coming in ranting about it being a blog.

I strongly think it should be loosened. No reason...it just should. It might make Teh Floodzorrz more interesting.
