Well, if we're going by that, then it's me. I thionk i've only made 2 topics this year, one was the trailer analysis thread in the halo 3 forum, i think that was verging on 100+ pages, and my other one hit 4 pages. so my average for this year is 52 pages! WINNAR!

My "It's so Obvious" Thread got 140 pages, methinks :-P

:-)

I jest. Thanks Honorable Sniper (sorry I don't get on Live as often as I used to). The key to making a good topic is:

1.) Make sure it's original
2.) Make sure it's interesting
3.) Don't bump it to keep it on the front page
4.) Be open to both the good and the bad comments

To be honest, I was really just sitting at work like I said. Then the idea popped into my mind and I made a thread about it. I had already had a 200+ reply thread for my "Activating Halo" thread, so I had confidence in this one sparking discussion. I didn't really know it would spark so much though, LOL!

But with the good comes the bad. That thread both helped me become a pretty well known member, but also made me an enemy to those who disagreed with it.......even though I did nothing to them but give my opinion. I've had almost 10 unique threads aimed at how I was wrong. And one thread that was made when someone literally copied/pasted my OP and I guess expected 3500 replies. Instead, he met Recon that night, LoL!

I'd like to thank the community for making me feel so welcome here. Even though it was a bit of a rough start, I feel that this site is such a great place for discussions (if you know where to look!)

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

It's also important not to let your topic stroll to an entirely different conversation which has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

So, influential members. Well, there's quite a lot. Many have taught me to be vigilant. There are many people that have influenced the way i respond in threads and how to positively present myself on the forums and in chapters. I think the first person to influence me as far chapters go was Psyched, though so many have also influenced me in a similar way.

As far as forums go, people like Banshee Baron, Shai, Psyched, Pink, Sir Fragula, Taz, snowman, Reiginko, MAZ and so many others that used to frequent these forums much more often have influenced me for the better. I should also mention people such as Rip Saw and Impurity who have influenced me by teaching me that this place can still be fun, which is a pretty important aspect.

I have of course missed many off and for this i apologise. Put it this way, if you've posted and i've seen your post, chances are that you've influenced me in some way.

This isn't a dig at iceman, but don't equate the length of a thread with the quality of a thread. I had a 450+ page 10,000 post thread in old Zanzibar that was nothing but spam from beginning to end. Enjoyable spam, but spam nonetheless.

RIP MTR

  • 08.11.2006 8:11 AM PDT

Yeah, I made a thread once. People just spammed it though, and it ended up getting locked. :(

"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

Hmmm...I'm still unsure as to whether "influential" is supposed to mean members who inspired me, or taught me something, which I view as two different things. I'll go ahead and address both.

No member has actually inspired me, at least not in my definition of the term.

There have been a few members who have taught, either directly or indirectly. The ones that come to mind are Impurity (a long time ago, while he was still a mod), Natedogr, and m00zor campycow. Imp and Nate taught me some important lessons in helping people (I've built off of the lessons into who I am now, so if someone hates me, it isn't their fault). M00zor made that guide that helped me to make my own group, plus he helped me learn how best to manage a group (though there are more people than just him who did that).

Thanks Brutus. I like to know people care.

2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Eh... a few people make this place influencial... Silentone2 is one that comes to mind right now... dont know why...

Nobody said me... makes me sad I have no impact on the forums >_>

Hm, looks like the people in New Mombassa have worse grammar skills then us guys in The Flood, and I don't think anyone cares if you're the king of a forum...Well, at least you're more intelligent than most of the other people there...

Ghoulsbane mb? I remember I always submitted into that 'Ask to be a Staff Member' database on Chapter Founders . . . . Still haven't got that =D

Influencial? AlphaLance, who was my first big friend when I joined this site. Kuldahar, who helped me and my friend echo391 out with our groups. Just another fan, whom also helped out. AbolitionOfMan, who has the same story as the previous two people. Darkness Howls, the Gehova God almighty. Ciaran, for being a great friend since I met him. Impurity for . . . . blocking me on MSN. Bastard. Yoozel for giving me some reason to actually stay on this site when the other echos left. Sigma for not always being there. Yeroen for involuntarily giving the hope to make Chapter Guide, though that didn't last long at all. And, Fiurha, for being the best.
