Yeah, I downloaded Halo Custom Edition, but when I start it, It says to put the CD in, but i have it in the drive. Could it have anything to do with me having a copy of the original cd? I made a clone just in case the Master copy was scratched, and the original is now unusible. What can I do to fix this?

Dont scratch your disks, I hate it when ppl dont take care of their disks, I have never scratched a disk in my entire life. Buy a new disk, that is your fault.

I believe there are some places that buff the scratches out on your disk restoring them to what they once were, but I'm not sure.

I don't know if that works, but my Halo Cd is looking not so well. I just use this little spray thing and it works well, and the CD looks like I played frisbee with it too :P

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

go to gamestop. You can buy equipment that fills in the scratchs with some weird silicone substace. take at least 40 dollars. They dont buff out the scratches, Kim, they fill em in. cuz if you buff it then the disk gets thinner and it becomes more prone to cracks.

I don't understand how people get scratches in their CDs in the first place.

Three reasons:
1) They're idiots, and use the CDs as coasters.
2) They have idiotic younger brothers/sisters who use their CDs as coasters, or worse, frisbees, or even WORSE, try to EAT THEM. Thankyou 8yo brother. Bye bye NFS3.
3) They do not comprehend the purpose of CD cases.

Yah. $40? At the local Game Crazy store they do around $5 a disk.

Yeah. I have several friends that just keep the disks laying around, not giving them enough care.

You don't need to double post. There's an edit button right there at the bottom right corner of your posts. Don't be so ignorant, please.

Also, downloading the full version of Halo off the internet is called piracy. That means it's illegal to do it. You and this guy have two separate problems, being that he actually paid for a product key and you didn't.

KILL THE TRIAL NOOBLET!!!

Joking, lol. You really should get the full game before trying Custom Edition. I mean, Halo PC rocks even without CE.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

I assume the real problem might be with the copy. You can't emulate the copy protection on the disk, except with maybe the help of a virtual drive. Scratches would not be case.

Get Alcohol 120. Get DDE. Make an .iso, and mount it in DDE. That's legal, just so long as you have the original CD and CD key.

By the way... Piracy is NOT COOL.
