Hey everyone! I am a new player. As in I play Halo with my boyfriend sometimes.
I like playing it alot, but I enjoy just "fooling" around and exploring the places we go through in the game rather than getting through each level the fastest way possible. I think Halo is fantastical. If anyone has advice for a begginer my ears are open.

learn how to use the human pistol effectively. if you are good with the pistol you can beat almost anyone in slayer. also good sniping skills are very helpful in team CTF.

the grunts are stupid just bash them in the face and don't wast ammo. Jakles are a little tuffer. they have sheilds. just shoot them with three burst of your assualt riffle to take out the sheild and then shoot them. Elites can be a pain in the ass when they have swords. just mow them down with your rifle or frag them. Now the invisable Elites you can see when they move, and when shot at. just keep shooting it you'll see. And last but not least, The Hunters. The hunters are the most distingushable characters in the game. they like grunts on steroids and crack. they will charge you and shoot at you with their "uber" cannon. just keep you distance and don't get shot by the charged plasma beam. frags work good and so do rockets. all and all that is a rundown of you Covies. Play on.

In Multiplayer it is in (especially the outdoor maps) that you know how to use the sniper rifle effectively. Good places are in any shadow or high cliff place, where you have a nice view, but where you are unlikely to get into closecombat with an enemy. If you have a stationary target in your sight, aim for the head so he can't escape. If you are on a mocing target, remeber to lead your shots well enough.
If YOU are getting sniped at, I suggest moving immediately to the side ( if you know where you are being fired from) according to the bullet. That's hard for the sniper to shoot at. Crouch, jump and change direction whenever possible. If you start moving in a pattern, an experienced sniper should usually be able to easily get the hang of where you will go next, so never move in a pattern. If you are pinned behind a boulder by a sniper, sometimes it's good to just jump out and let him shoot at you(hopefully he misses) ,then wait till he's out of bullets or when he is reloading, then you have an access to move off.
Camping is a nice tactic for a sniper. Camping is basically staying in one strategical spot, usually where you have the biggest view to the map or places where players respawn often. When you plan to camp, it's most often a smart idea to have a lot of ammo with you. When you camp, remember to move so you can't be head-shotted.
If you like being a sniper ( I adore sniping, it's my second life!), then you might wanna learn the best sniping spots in nice maps like Sidewinder and Blood Gulch. Use them yuorself, but also search for hostile snipers in the same area as well. When you kill someone and no other enemy is in sight, it's sometimes good to change your position. But if you are a pro in avoiding sniper fire, then you can find the nicest plave on the level and be there till the end of time.
Sniping is a fast way to get you points, as you don't have to be close to the enemy to kill it. This is why pro snipers rule in outdoor maps, especially in Boarding Action. This is the king map for all snipers!

Woot, no time to write more. I would actually be able to make a book on this subject. These are just the most important facts. If anyone wants to learn more on this specific 'art of warfare', mail me or visit my group's forum.

That's all for now, the lesson is 'Learn so Snipe'.

If you come across the life-form known as 'the flood'.... RUN!
Not, switch to assault rifle to mow down the little balloon critters and switch to shotgun for... well, you'll see :)

Wooooo....a girl who plays games at all-rare over here in England. Well done for realising how good it is. The big tip is-if you play co-op and your'e o a hard bit, send 1 of you into the hard bit until they are dead, then let them respawn next to you. Repeat until hard bit is done.
