You got a goood point, however, bungie won't do it. Why, because, it'll take to much time to get one thread on.

I'll take a delay of 20-25 minutes to get a thread on site to restric the seemingly limitless garbage that flows through here at all hours.

Subject: What This Forum REALLY Needs

This forum really, really, really needs to elect a number (a large number, by the looks of it) of dedicated forum regulars to control the traffic. Each designated official will have a page full of threads created by you, Joe Forumgoer, and they'll approve each thread, one-by-one.

Why?

Well, as you can see, there are dozens and dozens of threads created everyday. The unfortunate truth is, however, that many of these threads are rehashing ideas that have already been shared, discussing things that have been discussed over and over and over again (bots in multiplayer, for example), and basically drowning out the few topics that are truly worth our time.

Just take a look at the threads that have been locked. Why? Because it's already been said.

Having people dictate which threads are posted (fairly - which would be the problem) would decrease the number of repeat threads, and hopefully allow those with interesting subjects to actually get the exposure they deserve.

You don't understand; the locking is our way of choosing what gets posted. People should at least be able to post their ideas without some hardass from the forum saying "JEEZE I hate that idea I'm not going to accept it". This way, if it's a stupid idea, people get to voice their opinions on that. If it isn't, then they (once more) get to voice their opinions.

Personally I don't like the idea of the general populous deciding what threads come in and which ones stay out. If that's the case, then what the hell are we here for? All the bad threads would be rejected and we'd be out of a job.

And I like my job.

I think a bigger emphasis on the rules would be better than stopping each individual thread. The problem lies not with the thread but with the posters.

People need to understand the rules better, I know, for a fact, half of the optimatch threads would be made redundant if people read the thread that has links to Clanmatch, Head to Head and SWAT Ranks in it.

Same with the Halo 3 threads of interest.

We can lock every weapon idea thread but people will continue to post them. As such, having some trusted member would simply make the moderators redundant and open the entire system up for corruption. There is a reason why there aren't 100 moderators.

Quick! Tell HBO! I'm sure we can fit this into some Marathon lore pages.

More ninjas have been added. Search engine, active voting booth, active gallery, more avatars, more themes, and more Pimps at Sea pics are what the forums really need.

I'm not sure I understand the idea of this. You want more B.net Mods/Ninjas? That might be cool.

Ah, but here is a question I pose: do you think new members would actually use it to look for existing topics before they make their own?

Some would use it, and I would definitely use it. Of course, many members would ignore it.
