OK, I know this is kind of early but I just had to get it out of my system.

Please read the ENTIRE POST

* 15 vehicles per side. Some of them will be truly huge with traversible interiors (think the big walking thing you fought in the beginning og Halo), many weapons, etc. There will be one huge vehicle (for each side) for air, land, and sea. Each huge vehicle can serve as a spawn point for plaers, except the giant land vehicle. Each vehicle is movable (imagine the sense of awe from seeing something enormous moving.) The huge ship can build smaller water vehicles(players buy them.) Each of the 3 giant vehicles will be manned by a dozen or less people. The control stations will featujres holographic interactive controls (think Final Fantasy : the Spirits Within.) The air vehicle can carry troops and it lightly armed. As for the land vehicle, it is either a hover tank.

Thre are also numerous msller support vehicle, ranigng from speeders to mechs. Smaller vehicles may have multiple weapons.
* Dual wielding, just like Halo 2.
* Melee attack, just like Halo 2.
* A Dozen or so eapons per side, each of which can be customized with add-ons.
* Players earn money with spawn point captures. Weapons range from plasma rifles to grenade luanchers. Weapons feature holographic and animated displays (ut not interactive.)
* Alt fires, like tracking rounds for the plsma rifle.
* Far future setting, which explains how a plsma rifle could fire tracking rounds.
* Weapons may fire pulses of energy or beams. This is to create agood looking combat.
* This thread
* Customzie your player with custom logos and caln insignias.
* Customize your vehilces a la chromehounds. You can save configurations.

If this mod isn't an instant hit, i'll eat my computer.

I think it won't work because of the limitations of the engine. And, you'd be hard-pressed to find somebody who'd do it. It won't work.

Go set the table with napkins, a fork and a knife, because you're about to eat your computer.

Well, you better get your fork and spoon ready.

Heads up - The vehicles thing isn't gonna get a lot of hits here.

We don't know yet if it isn't a success.

Halo 2s engine can render big environments. Mod teams have also been known to introduvce changes to an engine also.

Wishful thinking, but maybe Bungi can make this mod..?

With the limitations of Halo's engine, and seeing how Halo is pretty old, with Halo 2 PC about to arrive just around the corner, it's not going to work, barely anybody's going to play it, and no one would waste their time on it.

And you're talking about a mod for HPC, not H2PC. And yes, it is wishful thinking for Bungie to make it. Like, giant not-ever-going-to-happen-in-several-billion-eons wishful thinking.

I don't think anyone here realizes how amazing it will be to be ona massive ship moving across the water, with you and your team mates bombarding enemies on land or on the sea. That's only the tip of the iceberg.

The battlfield atmosphere would be amazing.

Ever palyed BF2? Imagine how awesome it would be if the airvcraft vcarrier was mobile. ANd it had tons of weapons.

I also want

* Turrets
* Burst, semi auto, and full auto.

then when Halo 2 Vista hits you can do it yourself.

QFT!

It's not going to happen. End of story.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

can i remind you that there will only be 16 players max per game?

Omnios, I'm going to stock up on aspirin and ritalin for you, because there's a highly probable chance that there will only be sixteen player support.

And about the 16 player limit, that counts under as "limitations of the game". It just won't work. Hugeass and Coldsnap are ginormously huge, and even if you're lucky enough to get sixteen players in a server, it's still very wide and open. That's one of the faults in big maps like HA and CS. And like ImSpartacus said, Halo isn't BF2.

Dude, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's not broken, so don't fix it. No, it would not work fine. A small map like Lockout is already crowded with chaos around every corner with ten players, let alone the maximum sixteen and twenty four players.

You aren't going to get more than 16 players. You won't be able to mod it in either.

There, its said, I want to hear NO MORE of your 24 players or I will be pissed stuff.

Ah, my attitude of actualy listening to what bungie is saying, and not demanding something that would make the game not as great...

You have no idea how much thought goes into the number of players a map is meant for. You have no idea how much though and time goes into almost every single insignificant piece of the game. Suggestions are fine, just don't be an ass and demand something that has been rejected for more than a few good reasons.

Gentlemen,( or ladies, lol I don't know what your sex is), I think we can all agree that there are aspects of the game that we would like to see changed but sometimes it is impossible to do.

Oh and if you think it can be done; than design it and sell it to bungie and make a fortune!

Oh and the mod ain't a bad idea however I think Battlefront 2 beat you to it via their space battles which are similiar to your idea. However, your idea would be cool, but like the other guys put it, it just can't happen right now.

Shouldn't we wait for H2PC to come out before we start modding it? Actually, shouldn't we wait for H2CE to come out? Allthough I have a feeling that's not going to happen. H1CE was more like something to placate the hungry masses while Bungie devoted all their attention to Halo 2 Xbox. It was nice, because Bungie didn't really have to do any of the work, except for upgrade the netcode. But now, with Halo 3 coming out soon after H2PC, I don't think it will happen.

By the way, are you talking about making this for Halo 1 CE? Because that kind of voids my entire post.

You have no idea how much thought goes into the number of players a map is meant for. You have no idea how much though and time goes into almost every single insignificant piece of the game.
Agreed. Do you have any idea how crazy it'd be to have 16 players on something like Wizard? That's why it only supports 2-8 players (or maybe it's 2-6). And the idea of buying weapons is (I'll refrain from saying stupid) not that interesting.
If you want to trade in for upgrades, go buy World of Warcraft.
If you want to battle for spawn points, go buy Battlefield 2.
If you want to have huge, 12-person vehicles, then forget it. There's no way to get 12 people to cooperate together without voice support. Besides, what kind of pilot would wait around for 12 other people to jump in? I wouldn't.

Edit: Wow, my longest post yet.
