In my opinion multiplayer with motion trackers is kinda predictible. The only reason that I'd have motion trackers on is so I can see who makes the first move when enemies get real close.

Some of my favourite types of games is when theres some bottleneck area where enemies are bound to cross. For example Sidewinder, on the hills, around the middle. Or Sidewinder in the bases or centre area.

Its great when you and your team mates come charging round the corner only to find the enemy doing the same. Its like a spontaneous pistols at dawn. You frantically pull out a weapon that will help or lob a grenade to shake things up.

Another good scenario is when by complete chance the enemy goes round the corner at the same time as you. Its the fastest thinker wins.

I've only ever had motion trackers on when I'm weining a friend onto Halo and he's a newbie. All together I've probably played 15 matches with motion trackers out of like a million!

Me and my friends once had a system link on 'King of the Hill' with motion trackers. We found it helped, but in turn made the match a lot longer. We ended up making up a moto against 'King of the Hill' matches with motion trackers.

'If you can't see your enemy coming, you don't deserve the hill'

Also motion trackers made CTF games quite boring. The enemy defender can blatently see when you're breaking in!

I suppose the only good match with motion trackers is Oddball. That little prat that always ends up with the ball and crouches in a corner like a coward seemed to disappear and make the match more fair.

I'd like to hear other gamers thoughts on motion trackers. Please tell me how it spoilt/increased your fun.

The only reason I

No - if you can't use a motion tracker to your advantage then you aren't a good Halo player in my opinion. You can easily stop yourself showing up on the motion tracker if you know how, and it's a good tactic to use.
I hate it when people have it off - it's so damn useful.

I only turn motion trackers off in King of the Hill and Slayer modes, it's far too useful to discard in CTF. Besides, most of my CTF games are outdoors and are more about sniping than running around in tiny little corridors trying to kill the other mice.

It's an unanswerable question really - If you don't like them - turn them off, if you like them leave them on - besides which it adds a challenge when trying to sneak up on people. You only show up on the motion tracker if you move more than about 2 feet a second.

I only wish there was a way to turn off the powerups. Active Camo is cheap... Hide on your own merit.

bah

If motion tracker matches were male and non-motion tracker matches were female, I'd "swing either way." As it is, when there are few people involved, I prefer the ladies, but when it's an all-out match, I like the g... er, motion traker on. If there are 16 people playing, the MT hardly helps at all, but it allows you to have a superior sense of what's behind you. In tiny matches, it gets to be annoying because campers feel invulnerable. It has to go in sniping matches. But the big matches are the best, and in these, the MT rules all!

Yeah, Active Camoflage is sometimes a bit too easy to hide with. Its a lot more challenging to hide on your own.

Personally I think that taking off motion trackers doesn't make you less a player. It puts everyone in the same boat. It makes you count more on your eyes and instincts of future events (what'll be round the next corner) instead of using a device that does it for you. Yes it is a challenge to move without been picked up on the motion tracker but taking it off helps any newbies or lesser players. This is because you know how to sneak while they don't.

The main good reason for no motion trackers is that it stops players standing still and looking down the sniper rifle scope for hours on end. The first time they get rocket launched into the sky or cracked around the head will probably be their last because they won't know who is over their shoulder.

Snipers rarely use the motion tracker anyway - that's why it's so easy to thump them on the back on the head. Active camo is also a good tactic - again, something challenging to contend with. It's pretty bad in the PC version though - damn PC players and their NVIDIA cards!

I never meant it to mean less of a player- sorry -- I meant for veteran players who all know how to sneak - the Motion tracker is a great way to keep you on your toes -- Personally when my buds and I play Snipers or Shotguns, we leave them off... ( It's a good way to catch Screenwatchers too...)

But all in all that's why the switch is there.

Very true GameJunkieJim, the switch is there for a reason.

Keep it on or off, its upto you. I personally like no motion trackers so you can't predict if someone is round the corner

Change that word to campers. A truely good sniper doesn't camp. There is no such thing as a highly skilled camper, it's just not possible. That's like saying a person who sits in the middle of the map with a LAAG is a good player. When I snipe, I use the MT a lot. I actually will "camp" in one spot for two or three kills before moving on. Without the MT, I don't ever camp. I'll stay in one spot until I fire my gun (in other words, for about 10 seconds) then I move on to another spot. And you can't ever sneak up on me when I'm sniping because it's just not possible. Circular logic is fun.

Personally I don't like the motion tracker because of the way my friends use it in CTF. I'm not saying that I can't use it to my advantage, trust me, I do whenever it is on. I just like the feeling of having to constantly check your 6 (look behind you) and not knowing when someone is gonna show up. Especially in CTF, I hate the base guarders that know exactly when you're coming, they should have to be on their toes the entire time. If its on and you try and sneak up slow without appearing on the MT then someone running out of the base will most likely take you out cause you are barely moving. All in all I am still the best in my group of friends if the MT is on or off, I just like the randomness of having it off.

Well I do change the type of game constantly. The fact is that I'd rather keep one aspect the same. That would be no motion tracker. I don't even use it that much in the campaign. That's probably because I've played the game so much is that I nkow where the enemy will come from next.

Motion Tracker and Grenade placement is a Plus! If you can us the MT to your advantage! you can place a grenade right under your enemies feet! Making you that much more dominant!

base guarders that know exactly when you're coming
It's pretty obvious when you're coming even without the motion tracker.

i never play with motion trackers. Even without them its not that hard to see someone coming but by turning them off it gives you the chance to sneak up behind someone.
