Yeah, I think Achronos said Mozilla would have issues. I'm not sure why though.

I'm have tons of great days, except for today, which is more of a school matter and other rreally busy things rather then a b.net and column matter, but the days just keep getting better as far as bungies concerned(or atleast its fans).

The top bar could be docked more or hidden since its in they way of some stuff. A button could just make it hide or appear.kinda like the games/stats.community/bungie/store/icon thing

Hey, remember that the Column still uses the old threaded style listing, so it's still handy to know how to view all posts at once there.

Sometimes (one time so far) the bottom toolbar stops following the screen, so that it get stuck in the middle of the screen and hides everything
*edit*
the sig is to close to the text you write, so the sig text and the post text seems to be one and the same text.

That Bungie logo on the top left is very obstructive, that's my only complaint.

One small detail.
The search box only let me put in half, if that, of the charaters.
Honestly

  • 04.16.2004 9:43 AM PDT

Search box? I thought there was no search box yet!

Speaking of search, I don't think the poeple finder is working correctly either.

{Edit} Scratch that, you just have to exactly match the name, case-sensitive too. Is there anyway to loosen the search restriction?

Yeah, I think I like the Septagon the best too. The Underground is just going nuts right now, this place is a little more layed back.

I visit them all, but the underground does go fast. This thread is big, but is nuthin compared to Frankie's Weekly Update thread. I will leave it at that lol.

I really like the new Bungie.net! The colour scheme is cool and the artwork is great. I can easily read the text and the navigation is fairly intuitive. And the nav bar collapses. Very cool. I would also like to say that having more threads per page or posts per page would be very nice. If it was possible to make it a customizable number (even if we say had to pick set numbers like "10, 25, or 100") that would be awesome. Having the wider content area would be great as well, but you already said you were looking into that, so thank you.

A few days ago when I reloaded the main Bungie.net page it seriously messed up the navigation bar, making some of the images transparent and other weird side effects. I was trying to reproduce the bug just now to give you some feedback, but I am unable to do so. Perhaps it has already been fixed (if so, kudos).

The Passport login cookies seem to be out of sync between 7th Column chapter pages and the main Bungie.net. If i go directly to a 7th Column Chapter and log in there, when I follow a link to the main part of Bungie.net it does not register the fact that I have logged in. All I have to do is click the Passport button and it reads the cookie and logs me in, but I thought you might like to know.

Reiterating some posts from before, the mouse scroll wheel does not function under the Mozilla browser (maybe this is something that cannot be fixed as it is the browser's responsibility?) A quick hack I have found to make it work is to click and hold down on a link, and then move the mouse away and unclick (so that the link is highlighted but I do not actually follow it). When the focus has been set like this to a link on the page the mouse wheel works fine. Unfortunately, simply highlighting text in the window does not allow me to scroll using the mouse wheel.

I don't like the fact that the link formatting works differently between the new Bungie.net forums and the 7th Column forums. Can it be kept consistent?

Also, are we still notified in some visual way when we receive new messages? I hadn't noticed anything coming up.

Lastly, I want to say that I LOVE the new image viewer part of the website (and by that I mean this. At first i thought I would hate it because it auto-resizes the image to fit inside the screen. But by chance I clicked on the image and it resized to full size! Having that simple toggle ability gives me a LOT of respect for the attention to detail on the new site. way to go!

*******
Edit: I have some shots and description of the messed up nav bar here if anyone from the dev team cares. Sadly, it was by sheer luck I made it happen: I can't seem to reproduce the steps.

Awesome feed back! Lets start at the beginning, fitting more then ten topics on a page is being worked on, i think they are trying to make it 25. There has been some problems with the nav bar, I'm sure they have already fixed it, or plan on it. My passport automatically logins in so I never come across me not ebing logged in at b.net while I just did it at the 7th column. Kudos for finding that you can't scroll on the Mozilla browser, I think that was brought up before, but I'm not sure if the b.net staff know about it really. It seems it would be pretty hard to change all the 7th column forum into ones like this one and the underground, but a 7th column update is due around the release of halo 2. The only way we can tell if we have messages is if you check your profile, which I think some how there should be either a pop up or some thing else that tells you when you on the forums or the 7th column. I hope this answered most fo your questions.

Lastly, I have one question. does the big Bungie circle in the top left corner bring you any where different then the one in the bottom right? If not why dont we get rid of the left one?

Kool Feedback! I will put this in the form of a statement:

First, I love the new b.net, as all others I know. I love the new layout that has been added , rather than the old one which was more modern-day, you might say. This one is defiantly more Bungie-like cause it looks like a layout from the future. If you have noticed almost all bungie games, take place in the future!!!

Second, I love the layout of the 7th Column page, but I think we need an organized method of keeping it organized, clean, and active. Such as a council
or some moderators (as stosh suggested). It can easily be one of the most active pages on the column!

Third the Halo 2 page is awesome now! With the new screenshots, more info, better info and much more, its much more convinent than the last one since the update!

Fourth, the community as a whole. We have grew to a massive number since the re-launch of b.net! New people are joining the forums by day and we have got superb staff and moderators!

Fifth, i love the inside bungie page! you can get feedback on the staff, FAQ's, answered questions. You can get a kick out of the webcams they added, and you can spice up your grades in Bungie History, when you take a look at the Bungie History Page.

Sixth and final, The stats page(s) I hope they come out soon I really dont know what they will be about, but I want to find out bad. I hope that Bungie comes out with the stat page soon!

Yeah sure I like it but there's one thing. I can't find out how to find my previous posts and what people say about em. Can you even do that? I think it is great but the navigation ain't too hot.

feedback:

unlike some I love the new Nav bars - and they don't get in the way (they also stopped sticking in the middle of the page)

I'd also like to see more topics displayed on the forum

And I'd like to see greater width for larger screens

(I know the above things are being addressed)

If you have noticed almost all bungie games, take place in the future!!!

I suppose it depends on what you mean by almost, but less than half of them actually are set in the future.
Let's go through this by series/game:

1. Gnop. Is not set in specific time frame. Future? No.
2. Minotaur. Definitely not.
3. Operation: Desert Storm. Set in the Gulf War. Future? No.
4. Pathways. Set in 1990s. No.
5. Marathon series. Set in 26th Century (and beyond?). Yes.
6. Abuse. Yes (although this may not count, since it was only published by Bungie, it was developed by Crack dot com.)
7. Weekend Warrior. No. (again, this was only published by Bungie, it was a Pangea game)
7. Myth Series. No (unless you believe that Marathon-Myth connection craziness, and even then, timeframe is disputable).
8. Oni. Set in 2032. Yes.
9. Halo series. Set in 26th Century. Yes.

So what's that? Six (or five, not counting Weekend Warrior) games/series are not set in the future. Three (or two not including Abuse) are set in the future. I don't think you can draw from that that most Bungie games are set in the future. In fact, if you include all the games and don't count series, there are seven games in the future (if we are nice and even include Halo 2), and seven not set in the future (and this isn't even counting Myth III).

I'm sorry to be nit-picky. It's in my nature. :)

Gnop has to be set in the future. It's going to take that long for people to turn into little pixelated rectangles who are so bored that all they do is hit around a four pixel block that's supposed to be round. How can that not be the future?!
