I have a question on the cutscene when Captain Keyes says he overheard about Halo. Don't aliens say wort wort wort? Even Master Chief doesn't understand the alien language.

I like Halo.

Yea, the whole language interpretation is a sketchy part in the halo story. I just take it how it is and don't ask those questions. But at least now, you can justify it a little becuase in Halo 2, the elites all speak English!

(Did you know that, if you play the combat dialogue of the elites in Halo 1 backwards, it turns out to be commands you hear from the humans. Alot of the Elite dialogue is just the human dialogue reversed and lowered in pitch!)

yeah that part really frustrated me. Also only grunts speak english but they are low in rank so its impossible for them to guard the captain.

If they have a translator, then they know some of their language. Captain Keys could speak "Wort Wort Wort" just like the Elites spoke "Blah Blah Blah" in the Halo novel.

Not a direct quote, they said, "Your destruction is the will of the Gods, and we are their instrument." So, elites know English and humans know Wort.
