Ok, if there's a 12 year old playing with you on Xbox LIVE do this- lock off his voice so you can't hear him, and continue playing Halo 2. Simple, no? It's not a big problem at all.

It IS a big problem when said 12 year old is TKing.

Usually when some "12 year old" joins a game and starts TKing my team, I just switch teams. I play online on PC. Lag is terrible, but managable.
(and I'd like to point out that there are some younger kids out there who are damn good, and decent Halo players, and some older people out there who get their jollies by making other people mad.)

Power of the mute button, and i usually just kill them untill they leave the game. Works most of the time, plus, the host can kick

The host can kick if the match hasn't started - sure. But ifyou started and the kid gets frustrated because you won't let him irritate you he can simply power off - and that kicks everyone out - including the host -- Check my other post - I say we catalog the bastards...

By the way I meant no disrespect to you in particular Halo 53 - It's a broad generalization and shouldn't be applied to everyone - but that's what we have a list for. Soon we will have a list anyway.

And it won't be just for kids either.

Sadly, there isn't a really effective solution for keeping this problem from happening in the first place. The only thing we can do is keep it from happening again. Make use of player feedback! It's there for a reason, and it DOES work. That, and the aformentioned methods of muting and kicking.
The problem is that the enormous hype and appeal of Halo2 will undoubtedly attract scores of these types of players. As with most XBL games, Friends and clans are the way to go.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I didn't take it as you disrespected me or anything. I am 15 now but when I first got XBL I was 13. You never said all 12 year olds, I wasn't blaming you. I was just saying many people make the assumption.. I agree that many are but not all of them.

okay okay, missing the point. not all 12 yr olds. i made a generalization based on the fact that 99% of the people that i have described are so because they are very young and immature. i know that there are 13 yr old out there who are prolly better than me, and really enjoy playing halo and other games, and to them im sorry for the generalization. the problem however, remains. i think Game Junky Jim is onto something, and hopefully a mod or someone from bungie will see it and take it into consideration. so if you are not one of these people, then dont worry. henceforth "12 yr olds" will be replaced with "griefers". now lets continue solving the problem

Wow thats long. Just play with friends... Ok you have to make them first but then so do they and good players tend to comen groups. I agree CS is utter bollox now and not only because of voice chat - the little kids are cheaters too, and punkbuster often pops up when a squeaky little slag comes on. But dont play that anymore and i never got round to getting rs3 so i wouldnt know that. What i do know is that its not only the younguns unfortunately, but also just older people being -blam!-faces.
i dont want a "teamkiller=boot auto" to be implemented, just either a vote system like some games have or the host having the power to do... well whatever the -blam!- he likes.

I was playing against this guy once on HALO PC who kept calling me things like N*gger and motherf$cker, saying he was part of the "Naz1--|< |< |<" etc. Not really pleasant. I understand the concern here because I don't want all the games to be filled with TKing little 5-year-olds with the vocabulary of someone four times their age and no skill. Seriously. I used a Fuel Rod on this guy and he just says "Oh, great. Pirate's using an autoaimbot." Obviously, this unnamed moron believes the only way I can beat him is by cheating. I killed him with a shotgun when he was in a banshee, and he started saying I was a "hacker". In conclusion: Halo, Halo Pc, and Halo 2 should not be sold to whiny b1tches, assh0les and n00bs.

I think i am one of the 12 year olds that take the game serious and dont need to mess it up for everyone. I think their problem is that they suck and get mad then decide to try and be funny and yell into the mic and act liek someone they arent, or kill everyone to be aholes. I dont find the point to it, i just practice. stragety and pride is better than making a name for urself as a tker and stuff.

Just an idea i'd like to throw into the ring:

Muting someone and killing them back is all well and good, but it will ruin Team Slayer games which are sure to be one of the biggest modes alongside CTF.

He kills you twice, you kill him twice, and presto, thats -4 kills for your team, and -2 kills for you (down go ur online stats).

What we could do with is a system where if you get team killed, you have one "free" teamkill on the person who killed you, so it doesn't affect your score at all, and lessens the impact on your team.

I for one would love to be able to kill a TK'er 2-3 times without ruining my/my teams stats because there is an idiot on my team.

what does anyone else think?

the problem is not experience, it is maturity levels. i know some 12 year olds who play and act like adults. the problem is those jerks who think they are badass by blindsiding their teammate so they can get a sniper rifle and use it to spawn camp their own base with their 1337 haxx0rz sn1p3r skillz, well listen here you little pricks! if you are man enough to switch to the other side and meet me somewhere in the level one on one i would blow the living hell out of you! you just think that you are slick by shooting someone on your own team, but no one likes you. you are an obnoxious, rude, immature, stupid, person with no manners and no friends. i really pray that they do officialy supported clans in order to get rid of the fiend that is the griefer. i mean, they suck 99.9% of the time

Wouldn't levels be the only solution? Just play with the strong silent types.

Well... team killing can be fun. Usually thats what happens at my LAN parties and everyone loves it. Some people take a game too seriously. For real, team killing. Who cares. Just boot them. Plus, its going to be more fun for lan anyways.
