Since I know eventually Frankie or Sketch will read this, hopefully, I'll just get to the point. Depending on whether or not Bungie succeeds at having 64 (Mr L337's review) or 32 players from what I've actually heard, the multiplayer maps may or not be resized (Larger, etc.) My post mostly applies if this occurs. I would suggest creating a class based system for Multiplayer, for such modes as Team Deathmatch and possibly whatever new ones might be created. Such classes as Assualt (Infantry, Sniper, etc.) Vehicle Support (Ground, Air) and possibly others. I'm not expecting much from this thread, I'm expecting to be flamed by most users because of my stupid idea and possibly being blamed for spamming and having the thread locked. But I'll let it go either way, it's better that I at least try to get these ideas out there, even if Frankie and Sketch reply or not, which I'm not expecting. Well that's all pretty much, if the idea was ever to be made I'd leave it to the best, Bungie, to twist it to their needs.

I, Personally, think adding stuff like this is a waste of programming time, dont make Halo a whole new game, add stuff, but dont turn it into a whole new game, this is just my opinion and im not saying the one above isnt a good opinion either.

another point there will probably be some live spcific maps as well as new regular maps

Class and objective based multiplayer games tend to have more replay value than just plain ol multiplayer. (bf 1942, Counterstrike, Wolf ET). It would be cool to implement classes into human vs. covie battles, but dont alter the already established halo multiplayer weve all come to love.

16 is an awsome number, but 24 would be awsome, but anything more than that just isant haloish.

I doubt that even if they had 32, that even if someone made a game with that many max, that there still wouldn't be that many people playing there (system link) or that many people join (XBL).

i think everyone in this thread has a good point if that idea (is a good idea)
did succeed it would have to stick to human vs covie since that is basically
the war mode and wars have diffrent classes. but i dont think their would be
alot of medics because most halo players play halo for the plain reason of killing and dry humping the dead. but some players would enjoy the position of medic so we are all happ. :)

I think this could be an awesome Idea if done properly. It would be fun to be running around as a Jackal while a bunch of marines try to hit the notch in the sheild.

Class based games are for Unreal II and games of that style.

HALO 2 is NOT a class based multiplayer game. If they have a completely separate area of multiplayer area for that then FINE, whatever.

But dissolving the multiplayer to class based would destory it.

32 or more players is highly unlikely seeing as the XBOX probably can not handle it. 24 players is more likely if anything.

16 players minimum.

Dude, do you think I or anyone else would want to see the old school multiplayer dissolved, of course I meant as a seperate mode, yeesh. And as for the amount of players, we'll see.
