I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

spawn camping usually isnt that bad in halo pc. teleblocking is a strategy. If you cant take a shee down with a pistol then you suck. Jump into the base and get a shottie which is great for taking down shees.

As an experianced banshee pilot, I agree with the statement that the chaingun hog kills banshees most of the time. Ther are several times ive bean flying around (non-noobishly) owning people on the ground, when sudenly I fly into a halestorm of chaingun bullets and fall out of the shee ,dead, a few seconds later. But I realy do hate it when people call me a noob whell im flying a banshee, be cause I go out of my way not to run people over.

There has been no flaming going on, so, why are you asking for a mod to lock this?

P.S. I suck at dogfights, :(

I don't whore swords, I don't have xbl, and most of my friends are bad at halo 2, so i just mess around with them, also, i use the BR/PP combo, and also, more commonly, the sniper rifle.

The majority of the time when I use a shee is for a tactical reason, like making flag runs, denial of entry/egress points, base defense or simply to keep the banshee out of the enemy hands (read: flag stealing, tele-camping, base camping or vehicle-hoarding).

While I don't always immediately go for the banshee (with the exception of just after spawning on DI...) I do occasionally, if I can't get a sniper rifle, or if I'm bored with running around. The banshee is not always the best choice for the situation, but there's no point in NOT using it. For example: If you DO spawn next to the sword in Lockout, do you run away from it? (Not having H2, I'm just guessing here)

In any case, a decent player (like Nessy, probably) should be able to easily dodge half-assed banshee attacks and take them down with a pistol. As many of the people I play with know, it's NOT easy to run people down when they know how to dodge (Hint: try dodging one direction, then when the banshee closes, jump over the opposite wing) and after a couple of passes, it's dead from pistol poisoning.

Of course, there are some incredibly good banshee pilots out there, who can shred you just with the plasma and fuel rod bursts, or take you by surprise - One guy called Sensor (haven't seen him around recently) was instant death in a banshee - even when I scanned the area frequently, he still managed to run me over from behind 1/2 the time.

In any case, if rock>scissors, scissors>paper, paper>rock, pistol>everything overall.

Given a normal scenario (1v1 on an open map) a guy with a pistol should be able to beat a banshee quite easily. Hell, a pistol can beat a tank if the tank misses the first shot - three to five bullets to the canopy while it's reloading and you've got a dead tank.

Mainly, the problem with Halo I think is instant-kill weapons. Because everyone thinks they're unbalanced - vehicles, RL, fuel rod (well, nearly instant kill), sniper rifle. But where's the fun in not having death perched on your shoulder?

I really don't care what people say. I kill using any means nessesary, not matter how cheap or unfare they are.

Pistols+Grenades+SpankillingCamping= Lots of kills ;)

btw.. the chain gun hog shoots out pistol rounds so its obviously the best all around weapon in the game.

That's total crap, it fires much less powerful bullets at a much increased rate. You can see you health bar drop one bar at a time.

Also, chaingun hog is horribly inaccurate, so it's obviously NOT the best all around weapon in the game. And it can't move without a driver, unlike a pistol wielding footsoldier.

Nessy, just because you made an awesome video with awesome kills does not mean you are the best player in the world, or even in the Maw, to judge what vehicle/weapon is for noobs.

You use mostly pistols and sniper rifles, the typical everyday expertise weapons. I use the as much as you, and I don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty decent with both those weapons, and I'll probably pwn about 70-100% of the people in a random server with those two weapons. Other people are good at those weapons too you know. So now, you're here showing off this cool new video of yours, and now wants everyone to believe you're an expert of the experts, and now you think you can tell us what weapons and vehicles are for noobs and such. Just because you don't ride shees and hogs, etc. does not mean they're for noobs. Just because you mostly use pistols, snipers, etc. does not definitely mean it was meant for experts. You have no right whatsoever to actually tell us which vehicle not to ride, and which weapons sucks the most, because we all have our own opinion.

And FYI, banshees takes skills to maneuver correctly, as Master Kim clearly stated. No matter how much accurate plasma bolts and fuel rods you fire from the air, there's no chance in the world you are going to kill that lone ranger in one blast. So you're anxious to run that ant over, and when you attempt to, you get your windshield blasted by 8-guage buckshots, get stuck with 50 plasma grenades, and get your ass pummeled with pistol bullets and the .50 cal warthog machine gun. Not only that, but skill also takes place in dogfights. When you engage another enemy shee, all you guys will probably do is circle around each other, and no one's going to die for another hour. You need strategy, skills, and a cool head, just like you would in chess, to outthink your opponent in a dogfight.

And if you're so pissed off about people riding shees and such, why don't you get in one yourself? I assure you, I bet you've never rode in a vehicle for a VERY LONG TIME, due to your false philosophy. If me and you both get on banshees, I will probably beat you so badly in a dogfight; you may be able to beat me in a good ol' pistol/sniper fight, but due to your ignorant opinions against vehicle/heavy weapon users, I bet you don't know how to use any. So never boast again how good and effective the pistol is, just because that's what you always use. And never assume vehicles and heavy weapons are for noobs, just because you don't use it, does not mean it's for noobs only.

There, my rant here is done. Also, Nessy, if you want to look like a Halo expert, at least improve your grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. It just shows how ignorant you truly are.

I've even used frag grenades on shees that try to run me over or ram me. Nothing shocks a 'shee pilot more than getting killed by a frag 'nade.

Lol, I agree! The desingers of Halo put vehicles in it for a reason, TO BE USED! Call me a noob if you wish, but as long as they are in the maps, I'm still going to use them

FYI ipjuunin it is not only me that says that shees are for noobs, but every decent competitive halo pc player. They take next to no skill to use hence why they are so fking popular in public servers is because of how easy and noob friendly they are.

PS I would gladly play you in a noob banshee fight, and after it we can play a real no heavies 1v1 on chillout or something? im sure the final scores will be entertaining.

Oh, and yes i am the best player on these forums.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Uh, I use shees occasionally. I am nowhere near a noob.
I keep the thing in the air, like its ment to be, and kill from above. I don't ram into the ground to die.

And if your the best player in The Maw, lets see you hold up to your words.
We get the best 5 players against you. If you really are "the best player", you wont have an ounce of trouble fighting us.

Banshees take skill. They're great suppression weapons. I think they're poorly underrated and misunderstood. Nessy, they do take skill. Just like heavy weapons. It takes skill to lead a rocket to hit a moving target from the other side of the map. Sure, you can do the same thing with a sniper rifle, but you get my point. If heavy weapons are for noobs, then why do you see them all the time in montages made by well-known players? Bamboo uses the rocket launcher and the fuel rod cannon in his video.

Nessy, I'd gladly 1v1 you in a banshee dog fight to defend it's value.

I'm with Master Kim. Nessy, tell me this, if you're so confident about pwning me in a banshee dogfight, that must mean you're pretty darn good with the banshee? Ok, now this is just me assuming, but have you been practicing lately with the shee? If I recall, you clearly stated that shees and the such are for noobs over 50 times already. Now unless you're lying, you must have ridden the darn thing more than once to be so confident to fight me in a dogfight. You have guts, but you're ignorant. You have guts, but you have too much self-pride. And lastly, you have guts, but you think you're better than you truly are.

You may be good with the casual weapons, but seriously, just because you got tons of props for it from the people of the Maw by your montage, you actually think you're better than us. Sure, you may be better than most of us, and you're probably better than me with the pistol, I admit, but don't go over confident on us. If we'd have to pick 3, let's say 3, of our best players in the Maw, and it was a 3 vs 1 match, I mean, it's not going to be too tough for you right? After all, you're the best player in these forums, how hard can it be? And when you do accept the challenge, not only will it be a pistol fight, but mostly dogfights to see if you can actually maneuver the shee like an expert you say you are. And don't you dare say "let m3 be h0st, then", or any crap like that.

Face it Nessy, you think you're better than us, no, better yet, you ASSUME you're better than us. But you see, here's the reality: You're not.

*sigh*

Firstly When has he said he'd own you in dogfight

Secondly Ok you've admitted Nessy is better than you so if you beat him in a dogfight then that goes towards the idea that the shee is unskilled and if he beats you it'll show it as a skilled weapon.

So basically Nessy would be fighting to prove you right and you'd be fighting to prove nessy right.

Thirdly he made a thread asking for a 3v1.

*sighs back*

When I said Nessy was better, that meant with casual weapons (pistol, sniper rifle, etc.), not with banshee. I know he's not good with the shee, because obviously he's never wanted to show himself as a "noob", and in this matter, riding the shee. I'm trying to prove to him that shees does take skills, and so does heavy weapons, and other vehicles, no matter how overpowered they are.

Oh and just to let you know, I'm not trying to fight back at you noobnoobnoob (just in case you take the reply back the wrong way). I have no reason to flame you, although you seem too defensive of Nessy. Not that it matters.

I'm not taking it as flames or anything.

I'm only really bothering because I'm bored and I agree with nessy.

Ok here is the problem as I can see with your argument.

When you pick up a FRG for the first time you probably don't know what it is.

Then you realise how good it is at killing vehicles and enclosed spaces.

With the banshee you don't know what to do with it at firstbut you soon realise the idea is to go up high and rain plasma death on them and flying into them from behind.

Doesn't take any skill it's simply learning how it works.

As wierd as this sounds, I totally agree with you noobnoobnoob (gosh your name is annoying to type, lmfao no offense). To be honest, when I got Halo Trial (that was before I got HaloPC), I tried out the rocket launcher, FRG, and the banshee, and immediately fell in love with it. But once you get more experienced at the game, you start noticing that these so-called "heavy weapons" and "noob vehicles" can be used effectively but non-noobishly. You start using FRG's not at close range, but at far range, like mortars, to suppress your enemies. You start treating the banshee like a fighter plane, I mean who in their right mind crashes their planes towards one darn infantryman, just to kill him?
But anyways, for newcomers to the HaloPC, what you have stated is correct, it's just a matter of how these things works. But these "newbs" evolve (most don't, lmao, but you get what I mean), and hopefully, they start treating the infamous "noob weaponry" into useful comabt tools.
