Interesting. I really wish I could play Infinity now.
From the way the level is described, it seems to be monotonous,
or it seems to tease you in a way. This could reflect the Cyborgs
feeling of frustration, trying to find the right path but not succeeding.
Maybe the unreachable teleporters are other paths, either failed
or paths that haven't been attempted yet.
My thought’s exactly, although I think your description better fits Whatever You Please, or perhaps Eat The Path.
Whatever You Please is a nightmare, for both the Marine and you: it’s a dreamworld of boiling lava, tiny shifting paths, and invisible enemies popping up on all sides. The Marine’s monolog also takes a somewhat more disconsolate tone, although all of his dream induced ramblings are pretty dark in nature; the constant pursuit of the men dressed in black, the pocketknife that’s more like a broadsword, etc.
Hanger 96 is definitely the most startling example of his habitual melancholy. Is this the Marine lamenting over his past deeds, perhaps reminiscing over the horror he has witnessed, indeed, created with his own gauntleted fist?
Seven hundred and sixty one armless and legless corpses float inconspicuously around the inside of hangar ninety six. I say that they are inconspicuous because it is their arms and legs which demand my attention. I did this, or I could have stopped it. Which is it? It doesn't matter now. I did this and could have stopped it, but nothing in nature ever follows a gaussian curve. Sure, they'll tell you that it does. They say that every five minutes someone dies in a car accident, but how often are there seven hundred and sixty one armless and legless corpses in one hangar?
I won’t ruin the rest of the Hanger 96 terminals for you, but, needless to say, they are very interesting.
