Where are the lists of my threads/posts? I mean, does Bungie.net expect me to to bookmark my topic or something? o_O

Where's the search, too? :/

You don't keep track of them unless you name and them and bookmark them that's not bungie's problem.

Yes but it's a convenience to have a list of the threads I've created ...

Excellent point ferret.

I personally have two folders in my bookmark thing that keeps track of threads of interest and posts. And one of the rules and outside sources for when i feel like playing forum cop.

I'm sorry, but I'm accostumed to forum software that does the job correctly by enhancing the user experience with ease-of-use and a user-friendly interface like control panel. But then again, there are some forum software that preffer just a forum-- a place for discussion.

Also, about "enjoying bumping" my own topics ... no thanks, I consider that spam. And if someone doesn't like the thread the first read, what'll make them like it the second read if you know what I mean)?

But whatever, if the forums are going to be so bare-bones/stripped-down, then screw it, I'm wasting my time asking for the feature.

I lost my threads. Oh well.

Thanks for the replies though, guys...

Become the hunter.

If you were really bored you could flip through the pages of the forum you posted in and spend some time manually searching for it.

This is a forum with 1.8 Million registered usernames. As such a high traffic forum, it requires stability, something most of those phpbb, ipb etc. type forums don't offer.

Also, features like those you mentioned take a lot of manhours to institute properly without breaking the forums. They tested a search feature a few months ago, I saw the box on the side. It IS coming eventually, but with 500 to 1000 new topics a day, it can't be easy.

Simply put, the ease of use is here, there aren't a bunch extra little tools to distract what a forum is needed for, which is the discussion of various topics.

If your topic is that important, bookmark it. If it's that good, people will respond to it. If you don't care about it enough to bookmark it, and others don't care enough about it to respond, then it probably wasn't a dynamite topic to begin with.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with you. There are larger forums that get even more posts/threads per day than this forum. Hell, this forums looks like crap compared to OffTopic.com (ok, mayb enot members counts... bu tlooks at thread/post count)... and they're powered by vBulletin.

I think vBulliten would die if it were ever exposed to this type of abuse. Remember, the same system powers the private group forums too, and when added up, Bungie.net serves up more than 4 million pages per day, accumulating 300 gigabytes of online game statistics per month from more than 1 million games played daily. ( Source Microsoft Data Network )

This is all integrated into the system, so you're trying to compare apples and oranges. Offtopic.com doesn't come close to that kind of usage, and couldn't with a vBulletin system.

Just double checked, and offtopic.com has a total of 41 forums, Bungie.net has 12 public, and a few thousand private.
