well do you think that blocking green doors with a vehicle spoils the game or is a tactical strategy .

People who get pissed off at blocking greend doors are obviousley just sad people who cant cope with change, its obviousley a tactical decision. Sometimes just so that you piss off the other team.

It's definitely a tactical decision. If you block off the portals so the other team can't use them, then you can't either. It's a comprimise between what you think will work better for yourself. I never do it because I like to get the hell out of bases fast if I need to. And in CTF in Sidewinder it is annoying as hell for both teams if the portals are blocked.

bah

I don't mind when people do it personally, but I think the vehicles should get fragged in Halo 2 if someone tryed wraping through them. Blocking a teleporter with a vehicle can be very frustrating when you use it as a means to escape. I get teamed up on a lot...

It's great fun. if some one is chasing me I go throught the teleporter then stand on the 'exit'. When I start to get telefragged i jump up in the air and -blam!- with a shotgun in the face.
When someone has stopped me from going through with a vehicle I dont mind at all, it just puts an interesting scenario for me to get out of.

Blocking green doors is very annoying for the flag bearer when he wants to use the teleports as a mean of escape. Thing is, both players can do it so I suppose its fair. Teleports are a way of navigation on sidewinder and without having vehicles would make the level very long and time consuming.

If you always know that they are freely available then you'll probably always use them.

In the beginning, when Halo had just about come out on XBOX, me and my friends were playing 4 vs 4 system link CTF. The teleporters was most definately the escape route for all flag bearers and it started to become a little predictable. I turned to websites and forums for a solution. Thats when I found out that you could fully block the teleporters so players couldn't get through.

I practiced it a few times at home before putting it into action.

The next day we bagan playing a 4 vs 4 CTF on Sidewinder
I told my 3 team mates the idea and told them to act quite weak against enemies entering our base. After 1 or 2 players they let one grap the flag and as I predicted he charged up the ladders. I told 2 to follow (one up each ladder) while one (that had respawned outside after a kill) was to remain outside to 'catch' him. He tried to go through the teleport, but couldn't. You could hear to confusion coming from the next room, where the enemy were playing. The 2 team mates began to rip him to pieces with AR rifles so he jumped off the ledge. There was the 3rd team mate ready to blow the stuffing outta him and did so.

That 1 incident now has changed the way my friends think about CTF matches. So it was definately worth while.

By the way the match was the first to 5 so the incident only helped a little. So it wasn't really cheating.

It can be annoying and tactical, just like if any enemy tactic works against you.

It's smart but if your on the opposing end it sux for your team. If no one would block the doors it would be a little more fun than just blocking the portals.
