Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Hello, my name is Vincent. Of course, I have a real name, but Vincent is what I wish to be called, in honor of a beloved friend.

Despite the fact that I am a new user, I have been playing Halo for more than half a year now, doing tiny bits of posting at Gamefaqs. I know quite a bit about the game. I would not call myself very good, but I can definitely hold my own, and I have had my shining moments.

The one factor that stands out though, that I share with others, is that I run integrated graphics. Yup, I play on the Intel Graphics Media Acclerator 900, and I'm stuck with it for about a year. The interesting part is that I don't have the problems everyone else has (gray Master Chief, completely invisible players), however I do have terrible framerates in single player. Recently I have learned to tweak things to make it playable. I have a good balance between balance and graphics.

So, I will try to become a regular here, and if there's anymore questions, feel free to PM me.

Ach! Was ist los?

Welcome aboard. Make sure you've read the rules and understand them.

I used to play Halo PC on an HP laptop with an ATi IGP 340M integrated graphics system, but, like you, had little trouble apart from horrible singleplayer framerates. This was back when Halo PC and ATi drivers had major compatibility issues, too.

I guess things work better now, what with the various patches.

Amazing! A well thought out, correctly grammared and spelled first introductory post that didn't request help from something that could easily be got from the stickies!

Quick, we've got to alienate him without delay! ...Uh, hah! You only post tiny bits on Gamefaqs!

...Yeah, I got nothing.

Welcom to the Maw!

Hey vincent, welcome to the Maw.

No worries man, about 30-40% of people here uses integrated chipsets as well (including me), but we all manage 'till we get a decent graphics card.

Guys, let's brand him with our special "Welcome to the Maw!" words! One of us...One of us...One of us...One of us..*continues chanting*

P.S. Oh and try not to post in the Halo3 forums...it's like a crazy battlefield out there, if you post something, it'll end up going to the 10th page in a matter of minutes. And besides, we don't want you to be one of those evil Halo3 regulars 'till things cool down in there. xD

EDIT: Wow, now that I've checked, it looks like things have been peaceful in the Halo3 forums lately, or maybe because it's morning time...I don't know, but just to be safe, stick with us, the Maw is a fantastic place to be.

Welcome to the Maw! One of the safest, most civilized places in Bungie.net forum! It's still relatively dangerous, though, the wilderness is crawling with trolls, so be careful.

Get a new PC so you can play with us when H2 Vista comes out!

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

It's good to see new faces here, espically ones who can use proper english!
You'll have an easy time fitting in. As MK warned, there are a lot of Trolls that roam, so beware.
Hope to play you sometime!

actually his graphics piece of -blam!- is technically vista compatible, it passed the vista advisor, and can play quake 4, fear, halo, prey, and a bunch of other games with a decent fps. i have the same thing, its a decent, even though, piece of -blam!- graphics 'card'

Lol, yes, it is vista compatible and I can play all those games at decent framerates. It's supposed to have similar specs to the GeForce 5200. Whatever that card can run, I can run the same.

No, they cannot. Only Halo, because they made it have support for crappy cards. Graphically intensive games like Quake 4, FEAR, and Prey cannot be run by integrated chipsets. Once again, you have no idea wtf you're talking about.

I have integrated too and I also did a bunch of stuff to make it okay enough for when I can get my new comp but anyway WELCOME STRANGER! well actually lots of people here are strangers to me because Im also kinda new. Not to the game, just the forums. Same as you, if I recall.

Well, then something is wrong, because I was unable to run Act of War: Direct Action, a very graphically intensive game, on my laptop because it's video card was too crappy, while the card in my laptop is better than some crappy integrated chipset.

Some chipsets just have incompatibilities (sp?) and certain games cannot be run. I cannot run Doom 3 at a full 30 FPS all the time. Sometimes I get that framerate, and sometimes I don't. I can play some older graphics intensive games. Remember, all integrated chipsets are different.
