Hey guys.... i was in india the past month... and i havent been able to solve my halo pc problem... here are my system specs:

amd athlon 64 3500+
1.5gig ram
evga geforce 7600gt ko
dclcd 19inch widescreen 16:10 monitor

i think thats all that is needed... other than that i have a normal logitech clavier keyboard and a g5 gaming mouse... now my problem is... im experiencing inordinate amount of lag on a t1 connection... when i run the timedemo...@ 1440x900 all maxed i get around 80 fps or something like that... but then the video is like... fast forward ... and the audio has a hard time keeping up... so i know the problem w/ my lag online is w/ my pc and not my internet... this lag is making my older pc look good when im playing halo.. that had an athlonxp 3200, 1 gig ram, and a fx5500... and a 17inch lcd...

can someone please help me out...? i really want to get back to playing halo.. cuz bf2 can get kinda boring..

Wow! Two posts and your already established yourself as a jerk. If your not going to be any help don't post.

You have enough hardware to run the game fine, so that may not be the issue. Lag is usually caused by the connection. Are you on a wireless network?

no man I dont have a wireless network at home... its a true fiber optic broadband system... So in every room of my house theres a separate ethernet port in the wall... on the same internet i never experienced any lag on my old desktop which has much older hardware...

I don't think it has to do with your connection at all, I think you're just not realized that because of Halo's netcode, it always lags. That's why people have to lead their shots, or aim ahead of where their opponents are moving. The time it took between you clicking the mouse button and the projectile reaching it's destination would be nearly instantaneous if it weren't for the netcode.

no i know halo's netcode is -blam!-... but i dont have smooth audio/video performance in the game... like i said.. in the timedemo the video runs in fast forward whereas the audio is normal... and the audio overlaps when the video decides that its finished its thang...

So on your older machine you can run HALO better then the new machine or you haven't tried that yet? You don't sound stupid but I have to ask whether you are running IM or peer to peer programs in the background. Don't know, but I'm drooling over the fiber connection and hardwired LAN.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

I think hes talking about campaign.
Thats a really odd problem. It could be somthing with the CD itself.

halo does NOT run off the CD. It's weird, because it sounds like the problem you get with dual core AMD cpus, not single core.

Man, IndianSnipa, I know this isn't very helpful, but I envy your gaming rig. You are one lucky man.

As for the problem, I agree with ConMan577. I remember reading something about that problem. It might just be the hatred Halo harbours for newer vid cards. :P Or, in a serious response, I'd say look it up on Google -- that usually helps me. 80% of the time, you'll get some kind of assistance.

Upgrade your drivers, download Custom Edition, download custom programs to run high-end machines. And run dxdiag just for fun, and post your exact specs. Start > Run: dxdiag *enter*

Yea.. iggwilv... my older pc w/ a gfx card so bad it cant run bf2 properly on all low settings runs halo better than my new pc... and yea i was talking abt campaign... cuz if i figure out the problem in campaign then my multiplayer problems would be solved... and the only reason i have fi-op broadband is cuz i live in a new area... in VA... and both the computers ran trillian while playing halo... I googled this online and i found this problem only w/ dual cores so i thought trying to throttle windows would help but it didnt... the only reason i came here was cuz i didnt get the answer on google... and king... iBet u got a better rig than mine.. many ppl in my community have better rigs than mine... hey dalmedya... if this helps.. tell me which parts of the dxdiag results do i put up... for now..ill just put what i think is imp...

Yeah I have that problem too when I'm using my new Radeon X800 XL, so everytime I try to join a server or play on campaign the just cuts off and closes back to the desktop.

  • 08.18.2006 7:43 PM PDT

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

Hehehe, sad, ever tried to doing that? Because it seems like you're an expert on that subject.
