i'm pretty sure someone has brought this up before with halo bein 6 years old and halo 2 bein 2 years old but i think that the bulky mark v armor look of halo 1 looked way better on the master chief than the smaller look of the mark vi found in halo 2. the chief looked powerful in the mark v suit and someone you wouldn't want to mess with. the mark vi looked all skinny and sissylike. does anyone else agree with me?

Hell no! The Mark V looked like a fat guy. The Mark VI actually looked like military hardware.

I agree, in Halo he looks like the walking tank he is, in Halo 2 it just looks like some armor slapped on him.

The mark VI looks signifigantly more advanced and refined. Not to mention it doesn't have the "hunchback" look.

I'd say Mk VI looks better. I would like to see S-III clad in both Mk V and VI in Halo 3..as well as both skins available in MP (same HUD and abilities of course)

Let grunts Sleep!!!

Yeah VI. But I do like it when the marines yell: "Look a Mark V!!"

i prefer the v armor. as said before, it makes him look like a walking tank, which is pretty cool. in h2, it feels like the armor is a bit WEAKER than in h1.

One game I'm not joking a little like 7 year old said and I quote " tell me what your dick looks like so I can imagine it in my head and beat off to it"

If Team Swat became ranked, would there still be no shields?

Amazing!

Weaker?

Halo 2's armor is more defined.

Mark V of course.

Sure, the Mark VI is more defined in texture, and has more advanced abilities, but Mark V was like a massive killer machine armor.

While I believe that the Mark VI is superior in every way, and looks more cooler, in fact, it is the Mark VI armor that is fatter, bigger, and taller.

I'd like to see an antique version of the Halo Universe Mk IV armor...maybe some Mk VI on the S-III who are bound to show up in Halo 3 ;)

I think the mank V would look way better than the mark vi. Just a few simple changes here and there and it would look ausome. The make V is easier to draw than the mark VI. The mark V looks sooooo ausome on the cover of the first strike!

The Mark VI makes the Chief look 'cool'. You know, the kinda guy you stare at with an admiring glance. And... that's pretty much it, in my eyes.
The Mark V is bulky, but made the Chief look nearly indestructible. That's right-- a walking tank. He looked so 'unhuman', it almost gave me shivers.
(YES! The Chief DOES look like a hunchback in Mark V, when you think about it. The battery pack is to blame. But I always thought the Mark VI looked hunchbacked, when you lower your weapon. Maybe it's perspective.)

They both had pro's and cons really. The Mark VI armour was much more refined, had alot more detail on it and generally looked alot sleeker. However the Mark V just seemed have that aura of sheer power about it - definately alot more intimidating to look at. Which is better? Hard to say

The Mark V looked better...

The Halo 2 armor doesn't have any luster....it may have more intricate detail, but it also looks very dull and skinny, whereas the mark V resembles a walking tank, which I believe was the point expressed in the Halo art book...
The Mark V was also more "balanced" than the Mark VI...it wasn't flame-resistant and it couldn't resist too much fall damage...and that's what I like about it...every super-hero needs to get his ass kicked by the environment sometimes...

Personally?

I was always fond of the Mark IV Mjolnir cyborgs.

Sure, you couldn't crouch, you couldn't jump, but you could run like hell and even swim in it. In freaking lava.

Yeah, but you'd go into battle with naught but a buzzsaw jockstrap and a pair of assless chaps.

And I remind you, the lava killed you. I seem to recall a certain cyborg playing in puddles of reactor coolant in Halo 1, and not being phased at all.

Anyway, I prefer the Mk VI armor. Visual detail aside, the Mk V didn't look like something you'd want to wear in combat. It's one thing to look like a tank. It's another to look like a huge target in someone's crosshairs. The Mk V didn't look like it offered much in the ways of mobility, and I for one am not kin to the idea of trying to shuffle for cover when it's raining plasma.

You missed a comma in that list, there, Shishka.

Body armor on the Mark VI probably looks better, but who cares.
The Mark V could kick the crap out of many Mark VI's. Sure a Mark VI
doesn't sustain fall damage, but the way it throws grenades sucks.
The peripheral vision of the Mark VI sucks also.

Love you Bungie!
Still playing Halo1 Custom Edition!

MarkV forever... actually it didn't seem "slim n' plastic" like the MarkVI
