Two words:

Hell. Yeah.

There are 500+ people playing in servers 24/7, and various gametpyes all around. But before you buy it, make sure your specs are good enough to run Halo. And also, if you have integrated chipsets, you might want to save up for a decent graphics card as well.

For twenty bucks? Hell yes. The price has never been lower. There's many other better games out there, but it's still a ton of fun, and at $20 you get your bang for your buck.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Basicly what Juu said.

Halo PC is an excelent game. I, and probably some others around, would be more than happy to give you pointers, and such.

I reccomend playing campaign for a bit, to get used to the feel of it. When you think your ready, try out multiplayer. But don't expect any walk in the park.

QFT.

And keep in mind, that even if you have beaten Halo on Legendary on your first day, that does not nessacerily mean you are fully ready for multiplayer. Why you say? Here's why:

1) Most human players with a brain > Covenant AI

AND

2) Due to Gearbox's failure of HaloPC's netcode, you'll have to lead most of the times, thanks to natural lag of Halo multiplayer. But fear not, once you get used to it, you'll be pwning in no time (hopefully).

Very free, my friend. But you need to have the full version of HaloPC to run Custom Edition, for you need the CD Key enclosed in your HaloPC cd sleeve.

Unless you're got one already, I wouldn't try it. I prefer the way the keayboard/mouse works over a controller anyday of the week. It's faster, more accurate, and overall more comfortable to the controller, so I would keep my money and try the keyboard/mouse first. If you don't like it, then try controller. It's up to you, I'm just giving my opinion.

Hell no. That's the worst way you can spend your remaining twenty dollars because you'll get your ass kicked by all the other players on HPC, and even then, the wired controllers cost more than that.

I'll give the Keyboard and mouse a try, but for other games like racing it does the job.

And those xbox 360 controllers for windows are pieces of -BLAM- anyway because when you use them on your pc, both thumbsticks stick right next to the middle, and keep making you walk left slowly or look right slowly and things. And unless I have extremely bad luck, this happens with every one because i relpaced mine 3 times and they all had the same problem. I tried to live with it but it got really annoying, especially when you try and snipe.

can someone elaborate on "integrated chipsets"?

not sure what that means, as i'm actually looking to rebuild my PC [after too long of being out of commission], mainly for doing 3D work, but i also want to be able to play PC games [including Halo PC] and do not want to bother having to replace hardware...

anyone have comments on what kind of hardware NOT to use?

or what combination of hardware could give problems?

or just what you guys think is a good setup so that things can run smoothly?

Basicly as long as you don't use anything with the intel brand on it, you should be fine.
Because intel sucks.
