So, um, uh.... when's that search feature going to see the light of day?

It's astounding, time is fleeting.

It seems like it's been so long since anything was said about searching, even if it is just a error screen.

I don't know if anyone has posted about this yet but I found another instance of "weirdness":

Click

Only seems to happen in Optimatch to me. I went to the nav bar and then up to the banner at the top and that happens. Nothing amazing or crippling. Sorry if it's been pointed out before.

My PC may suck or something... I don't really know.

ctrl + F5. Reload the style sheet and it should fix itself.

Woah, a lot stuff has taken place when I was asleep like a Search feature! :D

EDIT: The rules are going to have to be changed regarding bumping when the Search feature is released.

It's normally your browser that's the problem. When I used to use my BT Yahoo! browser I didn't have a problem with the site in over 2 years, now I've switched to FireFox, I reguarly have problems with the style sheet.

No they won't. People still can't bump, period. Remember, there is a difference between bumping and actually adding to the conversation...

True, but will you frown upon "grave-digging"?

  • 08.18.2006 7:16 AM PDT

No, not if it contributes to the conversation. We won't have to worry too much about necroposting though, since anything over 3 months old is autolocked anyway. But, if somebody necroposts just to type "HI" or something get dealt with.

Necroposting! That's hilarious!

Anyway, yes I suppose. But as there are clearly going to be more than one thread about (for instance) Single Player hidden items, and so people could choose to add to different topics. This would mean there could be 4-5 topics about it on the front page, and you'd have to lock some. How would you choose which ones to lock fairly? I don't know.

  • 08.18.2006 7:30 AM PDT

That happens quite often, two (or more) threads that have the same general theme and are on the first page. We have to look at a few things and it ends up being a judgment call. I look for a few things:

1. Which was created first.
2. Which has had more on-topic replies.
3. Which has a topic creator that expressed the view better (and possibly even look at how well the topic creator used teh English)

I then make my best judgment on which thread should be left "alive" on those criteria... and then DELETE BOTH OF THEM! MWUHAHAHAHA!

"system disabled: site search"

Hello Sarge? Can you not see? Are you not worthy!?

There is a search function! It has been disabled, but it's there!

Yes, I see now. I thought it would have been working since Achronos provided the link, but I guess not...

It's probably just receiving some last minute tweeks. Well, that's what I like to think. :P

  • 08.18.2006 8:10 AM PDT

WOw, I cannot wait untill the search feature is online and working. That should help with all the repeat topic in the public forums. I had just about given up on the public forums and have been sticking strictly to group forums. I might actually go back and start visiting those publics ones again.
Thank you Bungie!!

When I'm replying to something, New Mombasa changes to say "Halo 2 xBox General" and The Maw changes to say "Halo 2 Vista/ Halo PC".

Is that actually going to change, or stay in this quasi-existence it's in at the moment?

I joined one random IT lesson at school. :\

Ah well, it didn't mark anything, but I can see that some people would want their date to be visable. Well to be honest, if that's the case I don't see why they don't just put their join date in their sig' and be quiet.
