Why not get rid of the "Last Post" thing? I just realised that it's really unnecessary, and it looks kinda awkward all on its lonesome. If someone is that interested in when you last posted, they can check your profile, can they not?

Well, the profile shows your last login. Close enough.

It's useful to be able to see when members were last active at a quick glance. It may look a bit strange all by itself at first, but I'm sure you will grow accustomed to it.

No no no. If you're going to get rid of it, then you have to cry about how it makes you feel that your last post date isn't as cool as everyone elses. That's how the other one got taken care of.

So I say to the Bungie community should we continue to tear ourselves apart only because we may have posted last on different dates, or shall we put this hatred behind us and push for the removal of the information. The choice is yours. Will we be held back by our hate or will we move forward to a new Bungie without last post dates.

They're gone?! NOOOOO

  • 08.18.2006 12:52 AM PDT

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

Dammit, now I have no clue when I joined...unless I make an effort, which is too much work.

Why not turn the 'Last Post' into a link to your last post? That would be helpful to Moderators to track a spammer.

I like it! Now people will be judged by the quality of their posts not the dates they joined on.

But what if that post was in a private Group?

Has anyone ever found last-post to be useful? At least date-joined was always worth a look to see how long a spammer/flamer lasted before getting permabanned.

Last-post is useful for many reasons. The main one is that you know if the person is active. Say there is a huge flame war in the H3 Forums, you are looking for a mod. What do you usually look at? Their last post date.

That's within a day. A lot of the Mods long in once a day, and so that won't really help. There are measures in place to contact Mods, and that idea isn't better than what's already in place.

You are missing the point. Say a mod hasn't been on for 3 months. If the last-post was gone you would never now. The last-post at least helps most out.

Agreed member since may not matter as much but just because some one logged on today doesn't mean they were active or posted. So ya it shouldn't be removed.

Hence its removal - it didn't add anything except date superiority.
