Look, this forum is in terrible condition. There are spammers, repeated threads, flamers, and just overall jerks and idiots. It needs to stop. I am aware that there is a Search feature in the process of being created but I don't think that alone would help. What I am proposing is that this forum do a complete makeover.

(This would all need to be done after a Search button is implemented)

1. We would have to delete all of the non-Hotopic posts. Your ideas could be reposted later.

2. When you create a thread, you would choose an overall category it would fall into. Theory, weapons, plot etc. Then, when you use the Search option, you would search the category and not the threads with the words you searched in them. This would create almost mini-forums and sould clean this forum pretty well.

3. The Hotopic posts would then be categorized.

Summary: Delete useless threads and make categories to put the good ones in. Then use the Search option to find a thread that already is created about what you wanted to say. You then post in that thread removing repeated threads. Spammers and rulebreakers would not be tolerated due to the New and Improved Ninjas and in my opinion, our Halo 3 forum will be a happy place.

*Ninjas*
We need more Ninjas and the ones we have need to be meanerI am up late at night all the time and none of the Ninjas are active. It seems to me that the problem is timezones. We need at least two ninjas to be awake and active at all times. The idiocy, flaming, and spamming is completely out of control and those who have authority simply can't handle it on their own. They are nice guys, I have nothing against them, but locking a thread doesn't do much damage. We need someone who has no tolerance for rulebreakers and isn't afraid to put his foot down. In other words, we need more Shishkas and Achronos. I see people break rules all the time and it goes unpunished. A person will create a nonsense thread and it will be locked. The same person will create another nonsense thread and will be warned. Finally on the third or sometimes fourth thread, the user will be temporarily or permanently Blacklisted. This obviously isn't effective because I keep seeing the same morons over and over.

Things not tolerated:
-Spam
-Repeated Threads
-Flamers
-Religous or Racial References
-Political Discussions
-The word "noob" and variations of it
-Bumping or Double Posts
-And all other things I can't think of that are listed by Bungie

Ideas-Criticism-Opinions-No Flames I am open to suggestions, but now I am going to bed.

This is what I am talking about http://bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=8242441

My idea was for the Halo 3 Forum only. The other forums aren't as bad. It was moved by someone who has more authority so I will assume that I was wrong and I apologize.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

It's ok. I moved it because it wasn't actually discussing Halo 3, rather the forum itself.

As for your suggestion - it would be foolish to base an entire forum around the search function (we don't even have an ETA).

Secondly - the hot topics in the threads of interest are designed to minimise spam in a simillar way to your suggestion - people don't take any notice of them.

As for more and harsher ninjas, I am always on at this time because of my timezone and the other night I locked alot of threads. Got some nice abuse aswell - the point is, the Halo 3 forum is what Zanzibar used to be. A crap fight. I don't know that there is anything forceful that can be done.

I know your right, I just don't want to admitt it to myself. I mean just looking at the Halo 3 Forum makes me sick. All of the nonsense that goes on in there just makes me so frustrated and I just wish there were something that coulld be done to make it better.

I have an idea. Close the forum to new threads. We have very limitted information Halo 3. There has been a thread created for anything anybody would ever want to say. We have suggestions for halo three, speculation on halo three, trailer discussion, ... you name it and it has been done. So close the forum to new threads and let the conversations develop.

But I think we would risk ruining the community. Even though it is imperfect - it is better than nothing.

Imperfect is an understatement and you know it. ;)

I have thought of this. And I don't think it would ruin the community. I think it would just make the spam and flames pour into other regions of Bungie.Net. It would be chaos. Though the Halo 3 forum is moderated (sometimes), it is basically a dumping ground for all the morons, we need that dumping ground. The two best forums on this site are The Maw, and The Septagon. I don't want to see everything pour over into here.
