Minor problem. Just because we might win a battle on the ground does not constitute victory. Oh no. We must win in space.

In space our ships have inferior jump drives, inferior weapons, no shields, are slower than the Covenant, and are outnumbered horribly. We have a fair match in space when we outnumber the Covenant 3-to-1. That is a fair fight.

So far we have won every ground battle the Spartans were apart of(and lost many many others, like hundreds) and have only won 5 space battles. All other some 1000 we have technically lost.

So cloning troops will mean nothing in the Halo universe. Just more targets to be glassed by the Covenant.

Consider the resources involved in cloning millions of people, not just the actual process and growing them, but educating them all so that they could actually deal with the experiences they faced? Not easy.

Cloning in the Halo universe is possible but not to a sophisticateed level.

Flash cloning of organs has saved many a soldiers life (Linda's in First Strike for example)

And the cloning of humans is possible but the clones grow up with various disiease, or become mentally retarded and die prematurely, such as mention in Fall of Reach and Firts Strike where ONI cloned the Spartan children then placed the clones with the Spartans families. They all died soon after.

So basically even if Earth had the resources, all cloning would accomplish would be an army of millions of useless soldiers.

I suppose they could have made the technology better. But Dr Hasley also talks about it in the opresent day and it sounds like they havent. Humanity being systematically wiped out is also a bit distracting from developing new technologies not key to humanities survival ;)

Yes but only 8 years after the flash clone spartans thing the Humans encountered the Covenant. Cloning technology wouldn't have advanced mush in 30 years as all the resources are needed t ofight the Covenant

"So far we have won every ground battle the Spartans were apart of"

Not completely true, the spartans failed to stop the covenant from capturing the reactors powering the mac generators over reach.
