Now i've been thinking about this for awhile and have finally suggested it.

Right underneath the forum links on the right side we could have a list of all the current moderators. It wouldn't say if they were online or offline. It would just be a quick way to report any bad threads other then the Gmail account.

Or we could atleast have a stickied thread at the top of each forum with a link to all of the moderators profiles for an easy way to PM them ot report a thread.

Well thats my idea.

Discuss. Help improve it.

Location: Outlaws' Summit.

The problem is that Spammers would know the ample time to hit the Forums with their dirty work.

If it wasn't for that, I would be a wonderful idea. It has been pitched/slightly tweaked before, but I like your location for where it would be placed.

Offline/online is a bad idea, but I'm not too opposed to having a quick PM button for each of the mods in the corner of the forums or something.

I think it would be better if it was a group PM button.

That way the entire user group got the PM, and whoever answered it could delete it. Like a second PM box. Maybe with a red envelope.

I can't believe I'm actually awake this early. Ignore me.

Here's an idea i've had for a little while. How about one button. The button is a "Report to a Moderator" or something button. You click it, a text field pops up. Now, It doesn't tell you which moderator it's reporting to. It could be something that would detect which moderators are online.

Now, if there are no moderators online, then I would guess it would just send a PM out to a random ninja, or something. Plus, I have no idea how hard this would be to code into Bungie.net. It's just an idea for now.

no, I like the personal part it takes to say-

"yo, TGP, how come this thread isn't locked? Is it your lack of scruples, or what?"

It would also have to have a little notice once the button has been clicked to notify all other members that it has been reported, that way moderators don't receive multiple messages about the same thread.

I've always been a supporter of that idea since I first remember seeing it.

Ya that idea would work a lot better than an online/offline button and would makes things a hell of a lot easier.

Already thoguht of that. Way to read the post.

Go back to finding some scruples.
here's some examples of a report button. It's screen shots of another site that has implemented a report button.

the report button

The screen where you choose which moderator to notify. Don't need this if it sends it to all moderators.

Meh, I have a system of Bookmarks set up so I can zip through the list and see who is online with help of this page. That works fine for me.

The oflin/online thing isn't really good, but the mods list somewhere would be awesome! Also, what would make it more effective would be if it auto maticly included a link to whatever was being reported...that would be sweet! I got it, thank to someones post. Ok, here is the idea: At the bottom of each post, (execpt your own) there is a button along with Reply, Msg User, that sayssomething like: Msg Mod. Report to Mod. or something along the lines of that.

Ok, so just have a button that says report this thread to a Moderator, and it will automatically forward it to an online mod's PM box. (OMG, like really high tech stuff)

Oh yeah!? Well Recon's just an hour drive away. That's how you assert yourself and be direct!

Even though that's creepy, and I'd never do it, and after tomorrow it'll be a 4 (almost 5) hour drive.

  • 08.19.2006 3:54 PM PDT

*Sgt

There is a search feature which would pretty much eliminate the need for a quick link to a mod's profile. And, if there was one, it should say whether or not they are online so we can know which one to pm..

  • 08.19.2006 4:21 PM PDT

Well, you could just look at the members page of the HFCS group.

I skipped over the first post and read the second, which said "well offline online would be a bad idea". So yes.

You mean something like google talk, but without downloading the program. Like doing it through your browser. I don't think that this site will be able to handle that kind of stress...not for awhile, at least.
